Amitabh Bachchan’s son-in-law Nikhil Nanda lands in legal trouble, FIR filed against him in fraud and abetment to suicide case; details inside

In a rather unexpected turn of events, I, Nikhil Nanda, find myself entangled in some legal complications. As per recent reports, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against eight individuals, including myself, at the Dataganj police station in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh. The charges levied against us are related to fraud and alleged assistance in a suicide case, as part of my role as CEO of Escorts Kubota Limited.

In simpler terms, the FIR names eight suspects, among them are the head of the company in Uttar Pradesh, regional and sales managers, along with a dealer from Shahjahanpur. As reported by Navbharat Times, a man named Gyanendra Singh, living in Papad Hamjapur village, submitted a complaint at Dataganj police station. He explained that his brother, Jitendra Singh, operated a tractor dealership known as Jai Kisan Traders.

It was claimed by Gyanendra that his brother Jitendra faced undue influence to increase tractor sales from various people such as the area manager Ashish Baliyan, sales managers Sumit Raghav and Amit Pant, UP head Dinesh Pant, financier collection officer Pankaj Bhaskar, the sales head Neeraj Mehra, CEO Nikhil Nanda (who is related to Amitabh Bachchan), and dealer Shishant Gupta from Shahjahanpur.

It is alleged that Jitendra Singh faced persistent intimidation and mistreatment from the employees and agents of the organization, who demanded better sales performance under the threat of closing down his business. The authorities reportedly warned Jitendra that they would take away his dealership permit and seize his assets if the sales didn’t improve. Crushed by the relentless stress, Jitendra spoke to his family about the harassment he experienced.

On November 21st, I encountered a chilling visit from officials at my place of work, seemingly for the last time. Their intention appeared to be more of an intimidation tactic rather than a routine check-up. The unrelenting pressure that ensued pushed me into the depths of despair, ultimately leading to my devastating decision on November 22, 2024 – a choice I regret deeply, taking my own life.

Initially, no action was taken after his family lodged a complaint following his death. However, recently, an FIR has been filed against Nikhil Nanda, the CMD of the company, as well as several others, such as the UP head, area manager, sales manager, Shahjahanpur dealer, and three additional individuals, on suspicion that they may have contributed to Jitendra’s suicide. The confirmation was made by Krishna Kumar Tiwari from Dataganj police station.
