In the French legal system, Jean Monier, a lawyer feeling disenchanted with his career, is tasked with defending Nicolas Milik, a man accused of murdering his wife. Despite overwhelming evidence suggesting Milik’s guilt, Monier believes in his client’s innocence and decides to take on the case. As he delves deeper into the circumstances surrounding the murder and the family dynamics, his bond with Milik strengthens, making it increasingly challenging for him to maintain objectivity. This seemingly ordinary case could ultimately prove either the pinnacle of Monier’s career or its undoing.
The film titled “An Ordinary Case” features Daniel Auteuil (“Cache”), Gregory Gadebois (“Angel & Tony”), Sidse Babett Knudsen (“Borgen”), and Alice Belaïdi (“Interns”). This movie is a co-write by Steven Mitz (“Ma famille chérie”) and Daniel Auteuil, with Auteuil taking on the role of director.
