An Updated Ranking Of Our Favorite Picks For The Golden Bachelor Season 2

As a seasoned observer and ardent fan of the Bachelor franchise, I must say that among the remaining gentlemen, Mark Anderson truly stands out as a potential Golden Bachelor contender. The man has charisma, charm, and most importantly, he’s got that sweet dad vibe going on – and let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good hot dad?

For the very first time, The Bachelor spinoff titled The Golden Bachelorette has been included in the 2024 TV lineup, and it’s been quite an enjoyable season! Joan Vassos, who was previously eliminated on The Golden Bachelor with Gerry Turner, is now the first golden bachelorette. Her quest for love has sparked interest among numerous senior eligible bachelors living in the famous mansion. However, following this week’s episode and another significant elimination, Joan is left with three potential suitors, leading us to discuss The Golden Bachelor Season 2.

If “The Golden Bachelor” proceeds, as it appears likely, then a man who might not have initially been suited for Joan could step into the limelight for Season 2. Here are our leading predictions for the coveted role!

6. Gary

It’s quite possible that Gary stole the show with his exceptional performance! His charisma truly enriched the series and I’d be eager to continue following his journey independently. However, there seems to be some confusion as both Gary and Gerry Turner share the same name (just spelled differently). Moreover, it took 25 seasons for a Black lead to appear on The Bachelor, which makes one ponder how long this spinoff franchise may take. Nevertheless, I’d eagerly tune in if Gary leads Season 2 from Palm Desert!

5. Charles

Despite initially believing that Joan and Charles might not be compatible, I found his character development on the show absolutely delightful. Charles L. truly shone as one of the bachelors, revealing a richness to his personality that captivated me. Although he playfully referred to Joan as being in charge during her season, it’s fascinating to think about a “Charles in Charge” season – I’d be eager to see who he would pair up with! However, there were certainly questions about whether Charles was emotionally prepared at the start of his journey to find a new partner. It was clear that he still grieved deeply for his late wife, suggesting that he may still have been in the process of healing.

4. Jordan

Jordan was a strong contender for Joan (who visited hometowns this week) for good reason! The hometown visits brought up a lot for them as a couple, yet it doesn’t necessarily mean he wouldn’t thrive as the only man vying for the affections of other women if he decides to be more open. I must admit, I ponder whether the Chicago sales manager personality and his laid-back demeanor might be too relaxed to accept the responsibility, but he remains one of the most likable individuals in the group.

3. Keith

Another strong candidate for The Golden Bachelor Season 2 would be Keith. The girl dad of three from San Jose, California who strutted to the mansion with a romantic picnic basket that impressed our Golden Bachelorette would give completely different energy than Gerry. He also earned the first rose of the season and was always a fun place for Joan to go during the group dates – even though he got super nervous during one moment in the episode before he was eliminated. He was also such a sweetie on their one-on-one! He would be such a fun pick for The Golden Bachelor Season 2, and I know I’d be rooting for him to fall in love.

2. Jonathan

In Week 5, Jonathan Rone appeared to be a strong contender for Joan’s heart. Hailing from Iowa and being a single father of two children, he stood out among this season’s emotionally candid bachelors. From attending his first prom for a group date in the early stages of the show, to discussing his divorce with Joan during their one-on-one time, Jonathan’s emotional journey could have been a compelling focus in Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor.

1. Mark

It’s been suggested by many that Mark Anderson was cast as a producer plant for The Golden Bachelor Season 2, but let’s face it, Kelsey Anderson’s “hot dad” fame wasn’t earned without reason. Despite Joan ending their relationship during Week 5 due to feeling no connection between them, Mark appears to be the most promising of the bachelors to potentially have his own season.

The daughter who became engaged to Joey Graziadei while he was on his season has expressed her backing for Mark as the next “The Golden Bachelor.” She told Us Weekly she would be “100 percent excited” for him, and it’s quite intriguing to imagine two family members finding love within the same franchise.

Who In The Top Three Could Be The Golden Bachelor?

Currently, there are three gentlemen left in the competition: Chock, Pascal, and Guy. At this point, I’m not giving any of them serious consideration since any one of them could be Joan’s suitor while I’m writing this. Nevertheless, it’s intriguing to ponder who might win the title of “The Golden Bachelor” if she decides to eliminate any of them. By the way, Gerry Turner is going through a divorce (which leaves us speculating what this season will bring), so there’s a chance Joan may not find anyone at the mansion in the end.

I have an inkling Chock will be her pick, but if it doesn’t work out, I could also see the insurance executive from Kansas starring as the second Golden Bachelor – especially because he has the most compelling arc in the show thus far. If Joan doesn’t pick Pascal, he would be a very fun Golden Bachelor choice, and probably move in that top spot above Mark. He just has so much personality and charm to entertain us.

Guy, however, will likely not be in contention for the show because the ER doctor is currently in hot water for the public finding out he had a temporary protection order filed against him by his ex-wife in 2021. Though, his ex apparently withdrew the application three weeks later. Guy released a statement about it on Instagram, but even so, it feels unlikely ABC would want to frame a series around him after this.

We’ll keep a close eye on that series and adjust our selections as needed! By the way, if there ever is a show called “The Golden Bachelor in Paradise,” some of these fellows might make a comeback!
