Ananya Panday credits THIS person for choosing Vikramaditya Motwane’s CTRL; recalls moment when she said yes to the film: ‘I was over the moon’

As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, I must say that Ananya Panday‘s journey in Hindi cinema is nothing short of inspiring. Her ability to choose thought-provoking projects and her vocal stance on social issues are commendable for someone so young in the industry.

In just five years of working in Bollywood, Ananya Panday has made a distinct mark in the industry. Her latest roles, her sharp wit during interviews, and her openness about social issues clearly demonstrate this. The rising star recently acknowledged that it was her mother, Bhavana Pandey, who suggested Vikramaditya Motwane’s CTRL for her to do. Ananya shared that her mom was ecstatic when she agreed to be part of the film.

In a recent chat with Hindustan Times, actress Ananya Panday expressed her long-standing desire to collaborate with director Vikramaditya Motwane, dating back to before she started her career in 2019. This wish was sparked because her mother, Bhavana Pandey (who stars in the show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives), was deeply fond of Motwane’s 2010 film, Udaan.

Referencing what Bhavana shared regarding Udaan, the CTRL star mentioned that whenever The Fabulous Lives… actress views it, she sheds tears, without exception. Regardless of being aware of the ending, Bhavana becomes emotional each time, the young star pointed out.

When he gave me the opportunity to star in the movie, I was absolutely thrilled and eager to collaborate with him. I’m delighted that one of his movies is now included in my list of films I’ve worked on.” (Said by the actress from Stranger Things)

In 2019, Ananya Panday first appeared on screen in Karan Johar’s film, “Student of the Year 2.” This movie also featured Tiger Shroff and debutante Tara Sutaria alongside Ananya. Notably, this was a follow-up to the original “Student of the Year” from 2010, which starred Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra as its main characters.

Vikramaditya Motwane first stepped into the world of films working under Sanjay Leela Bhansali on projects like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas. His directorial debut came in 2010 with Udaan, featuring Rajat Barmecha, Ronit Roy, and Ram Kapoor in key roles.

In my line of work as a lifestyle expert, I’ve had the privilege to delve into the world of film production and direction. On one hand, I’ve steered projects such as Lootera, Trapped, Bhavesh Joshi: Superhero, AK vs AK, and many more from behind the scenes. On the other, I’ve been part of the creative process for films like Hasee Toh Phasee, Queen, NH10, Udta Punjab, Raman Raghav 2.0, Manmarziyaan, and several others, serving as a producer.

On October 4, 2024, the Netflix premiere of Ananya Panday’s film titled “CTRL” took place. This movie also features Vihaan Samat, well-known from Mismatched. In this cyber-thriller, Ananya portrays Nalini Awasthi, better known as Nella, while Vihaan assumes the role of her boyfriend, Joe Mascarenhas.
