In 2022, Ananya Panday starred in Liger opposite Vijay Deverkonda. This movie not only had a mixed response at the box office, but it also sparked intense online discussions. More recently, the actress opened up about how these internet criticisms impacted her during the filming of Dream Girl 2 with Ayushmann Khurrana.
In an interview with Filmfare, Ananya Panday shared that she has managed anxiety in various ways throughout different stages of her life. She explained that when things are going well for her and people appreciate her work, those voices don’t bother her. Yet, on difficult days, even the slightest comments can set off a reaction in her.
She clarified her point by mentioning that when Liger was launched, despite high anticipation, it didn’t fare well. Highlighting the significance of this outcome, she mentioned that she had to initiate the shoot for Dream Girl 2 just two days later, but on the eve prior, she began experiencing self-doubts.
She admitted she felt uncertain about her ability to perform, as if she wasn’t capable of acting. It seemed as though everyone’s comments might have been correct, and for the first time, she experienced stage fright on set. She was visibly nervous, even struggling with her lines.
The actress admitted it’s typical to shoot multiple scenes, but a thought pattern that makes someone feel insecure can strengthen the perception of needing numerous retakes.
Actress from the show “Chand Mera Dil” openly discussed her experience of finding it harder to shake off self-doubt when filming or having an off day. She explained that even if something doesn’t impact her today, it might trigger feelings of inadequacy a few weeks later.
Under the guidance of Puri Jagannadh, the movie ‘Liger’ hit the screens in 2022, while ‘Dream Girl’ directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa premiered in 2023.
In her professional life, Ananya is working on several upcoming projects. These include “Call Me Bae 2”, “Chand Mera Dil”, as well as a film that doesn’t yet have a title but features C. Sankaran Nair. She will be starring alongside Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan in this project.
