Ananya Panday’s sis Rysa’s CV featuring internships with YRF and Excel Entertainment sparks nepotism debate; here’s what netizens have to say

As a die-hard fan of Bollywood, I can’t help but be thrilled by the rising stars in Tinsel Town, and Rysa Panday is no exception! Being the younger sister of Ananya Panday, Rysa has been making waves, especially after her appearance in The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. What truly caught my attention was her impressive CV that went viral on LinkedIn, showcasing her internships at some of the biggest production houses in the industry – Red Chillies Entertainment, Excel Entertainment, and Tiger Baby.

In 2022, Rysa Panday, younger sister of Ananya Panday, made an appearance in the second season of her mother Bhavana Pandey’s reality show, The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. Previously, it was revealed that she was pursuing filmmaking at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Recently, a copy of her LinkedIn profile circulated online, igniting discussions about nepotism, with many internet users supporting her actions and stating it was “just fine.

On platform X, someone posted a screenshot of Rysa Panday’s LinkedIn resume, highlighting her internships at three notable production companies. This snapshot demonstrated that she had spent four months working at Red Chillies Entertainment, owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan; a month at Excel Entertainment, run by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani; and another month at Tiger Baby, co-founded by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.

Online community members swiftly expressed their backing for Rysa. One comment read, “If I were in her position due to nepotism, I wouldn’t hesitate to make use of every opportunity presented, honestly.” Another comment was, “It’s better to seize opportunities than do nothing at all.

In many sectors across our nation, nepotism permeates; however, unlike other industries, the film industry doesn’t guarantee success through nepotism. While it might provide an initial advantage, nepotism tends to benefit any privileged individual in India, regardless of their profession.

I, as a dedicated follower, found one comment that resonated with me: “Indeed, I’d be remiss if I didn’t seize the chance if my parents could offer it.” Another person questioned me: “So you’re advocating they shouldn’t take the opportunity?.” An individual also pointed out a thought-provoking perspective: “Nepotism exists everywhere, and it’s wrong to hire only star kids. However, when it comes to Excel or Red Chillies, they provide employment to numerous other people.

One person commented, “How is this nepotism? Bc their parents work their a**es off trying to have a better like and if their children is using their connections, there’s nothing wrong in that.”

Rysa Panday, who’s known as the younger child, hails from the family of actors – Chunky Panday and Bhavana Pandey. In a recent conversation with Raj Shamani on a podcast, Ananya Panday voiced her displeasure about being referred to as a “star kid” in a negative context.
