30 years ago, Rajkumar Santoshi’s movie Andaz Apna Apna, featuring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan as main actors, first hit screens on November 4, 1994. Over the years, it has become a cult classic. Soon, on April 25, it will return to theaters for a re-release. In anticipation of this, Shehzad Khan, who portrayed Bhalla in the film, reminisces about preparing ‘under umbrellas’ for the production. He also fondly recalls the fun they had on set.
In an interview with IANS, Shehzad Khan reminisced about filming Andaz Apna Apna and described it as a ‘sentimental voyage’. He went on to say, “I recall there were no mobile makeup trailers available during that time. We’d sit under umbrellas or in tiny makeup spaces, teasing each other.
Sharing memories of an amusing episode at Coimbatore airport when their flight back to Bombay from Ooty was delayed, the actor reminisced, “That incident was one of the most entertaining, unforgettable moments. We laughed heartily. It was special because the locals identified Salman and Aamir, making it a truly enjoyable experience.
He showed great enthusiasm about the upcoming re-release of Andaz Apna Apna and mentioned that his excitement has grown even stronger compared to how it was three decades ago. Moreover, he hopes the current generation gets a chance to witness ‘the true essence of genuine, unadulterated humor’ through this classic film.
In addition, Shehzad discussed his collaborations with Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, noting that they are both of the same generation and hail from the same region. He reminisced about knowing Salman prior to their professional encounters, as his father had brought Salim Khan – Salman’s father – from Indore to Bombay. Shehzad emphasized that they have a strong bond.
During that period, Andaz Apna Apna is recognized as one of the most memorable movies. It stars Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal in a dual role, Shakti Kapoor, Shehzad Khan and others.
On the 7th of April, Salman Khan posted on X (previously known as Twitter) the new trailer for Andaz Apna Apna. Accompanying the trailer, he wrote, “The style of true love returns… #AndazApnaApna will be back in cinemas across the country on the 25th April 2025.
