Garfield mentioned that he and Chastain often had profound discussions since they were learning more about each other on a personal level. I’m incredibly thankful for those moments with her, as they coincided with the period when my mother was gravely ill and eventually passed away.
In 2021, two actors played leading roles in a biographical film that chronicled the journey of Tammy Faye Bakker, a televangelist known for her rise, fall, and eventual redemption. She later established the world’s largest religious broadcasting network and a Christian-themed amusement park. Garfield took on the character of Jim Bakker, while Chastain portrayed Tammy.
In the film “We Live in Time,” the actor recalled a touching custom they shared during production, which involved her giving him a lift and driving them both to Heritage USA, the current closed Christian theme park owned by the Bakers.
