As an ardent follower of Bollywood, I can’t help but be captivated by the timeless romance between Ajay Devgn and Kajol. Their love story, reminiscent of a classic Bollywood film, has been a beacon of hope for many of us who believe in the power of true love.
For more than two decades, Ajay Devgn and Kajol have kept a strong connection in their marriage. They are a perfect example of how opposites can indeed attract. Just as the old saying goes, recently, director Anees Bazmee – who worked with them for the first time on Hungama – revealed that he could see their blossoming romance from the very beginning while they were filming together.
When conversing with Mashabale India, Anees Bazmee reminisced about his first movie, Hungama, which came out in 1995. Asked about his time collaborating with Ajay Devgn and Kajol during his debut film production, the director expressed nothing but praise for these talented actors.
Anees shared that his work experience with them was fantastic. He pointed out that they developed feelings for one another and later tied the knot. Overjoyed by their “happy marriage,” Bazmee commented that Ajay Devgn and Kajol are polar opposites. In his opinion, the actor from Singham Again generally appears quite grave, and he admitted that this is how people typically perceive him.
He enjoys quite a bit of fun as well, but generally maintains a composed demeanor. Contrarily, Kajol is quite lively and often gets into mischief. It occurred to me that they have a fondness for each other without either of them explicitly expressing it. I was overjoyed when they got married,” he expressed.
On Neha Dhupia’s talk show “No Filter Neha” in 2018, Kajol disclosed that there was opposition to their marriage. Furthermore, she shared an instance where her father, the late filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, stopped talking to her for a week when she expressed her wish to get married.
In a candid discussion, I shared how someone questioned my decision to marry at such a young age, given the promising trajectory of my career. However, I emphatically responded that I indeed wished to tie the knot. Interestingly, my husband and I were quite dissimilar, which led many to harbor doubts about our compatibility. Since we were relatively private individuals back then, not many had witnessed our relationship’s depth to fully grasp our bond.
Ajay and Kajol first crossed paths on the set of “Hulchul.” After nearly four years of courtship, they tied the knot on February 24, 1999. Now, they are proud parents to a pair of children – Nysa and Yug.
