As a long-time follower of Hollywood’s tumultuous relationships, I can’t help but feel a bit of relief and nostalgia with the news of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally reaching a divorce settlement after eight long years. It feels like watching an epic saga unfold, filled with drama, twists, and turns that would make even the most seasoned soap opera writer envious.
Their union, which began on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, seemed like a fairy tale at first, but as time passed, it became more akin to a rollercoaster ride filled with highs and lows. From their glamorous red carpet appearances to the shocking reports of domestic strife, their story has captivated millions worldwide.
Now, with the divorce settlement in place, I can’t help but wonder if they’ll reunite for a sequel titled “Mr. and Mrs. Divorcee: The Final Chapter.” And maybe, just maybe, they’ll teach us all a thing or two about finding happiness after heartache. After all, in Hollywood, it seems the only thing more predictable than a breakup is a reunion!
As a seasoned gamer who has navigated countless virtual divorces in online games, I can tell you that real-life divorce settlements are no walk in the park. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s eight-year battle has been a rollercoaster of drama and tension, just like some of the epic quests I’ve embarked on in MMORPGs. But now, it seems they’ve finally reached an end to their contentious legal struggle – a victory that feels as satisfying as leveling up after months of grinding. It’s a reminder that even the most challenging situations can eventually be overcome with perseverance and determination.
According to reports from multiple sources such as the Associated Press and the New York Times, James Simon, Jolie’s lawyer, explained that the agreement in question is merely a step within a longer, ongoing process.
“Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over,” he added.
News of the divorce was first reported by People magazine.
On Monday, Jolie and Pitt consented to a formal statement submitted in the Los Angeles Superior Court, acknowledging that they had agreed in writing about their matrimonial and asset ownership matters, as reported by the Associated Press.
The document, requiring a judge’s approval, states that both parties waive their entitlement to any future alimony or spousal support, according to AP.
Neither Simon nor a rep for Pitt have responded to The Hollywood Reporter‘s request for comment.
Pitt and Jolie, parents to six kids, tied the knot in 2014, having initially crossed paths on the set of the movie “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in 2025. However, their marital bliss was short-lived as Jolie filed for divorce in 2016. Later, she alleged that Pitt had inflicted physical harm upon her and their children during a flight aboard a private jet from Europe.
In another legal matter unrelated to their divorce agreement, the outcome doesn’t impact a dispute concerning the French vineyard, Château Miraval, which they jointly owned. Pitt took legal action against Jolie for her sale of her share in the vineyard.
Jolie and Pitt opted for a private judge during their divorce process, ensuring that most specifics about their legal exchanges remained confidential.
But some information has been revealed through the Miraval lawsuit.
More to come.
