The widely admired animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions is gearing up for a thrilling comeback in 2025, staying true to its origins in anime. During the 2024 Disney APAC Content Showcase, it was announced that the next installment will comprise nine fresh animated segments delving into the universe of Star Wars from a Japanese anime viewpoint. First launched in 2021, the series initially offered nine distinct shorts created by seven renowned Japanese anime studios, receiving acclaim for its groundbreaking storytelling and fresh cultural interpretations of the Star Wars legend.
In the 2023 second volume, the creative vision was broadened by adopting a worldwide collaborative method, bringing together studios from various parts of the globe such as India, South Africa, Chile, and the United Kingdom. The 2025 lineup promises an engaging blend of returning and fresh talent, with established favorites like Kamikaze Douga, Kinema Citrus Co., Production I.G, and TRIGGER making a return, along with newcomers such as ANIMA (collaborating with Kamikaze Douga), David Production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio.
