Anna Delvey Says She Got “Permission From ICE” for ‘DWTS’ and Will Wear Ankle Monitor

When asked for her opinion, she said that she was “ready for fun” and that she “got persuaded to join due to the nature of the situation.” This implies that her decision to join or dance was not a whimsy but rather a serious matter, such as the potential effect on performances. When looking ahead, she implied that there would be no effect on performances, which is also true in this case.

Anna Delvey expresses her excitement about having some enjoyable times and working out, following her addition to the lineup for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars

Anna Sorokin, also known as Delvey, is well-known as the individual who was found guilty of fraud. Her deceptive activities were detailed in Jessica Pressler’s article for New York magazine. This German heiress imposter allegedly tricked numerous residents of Manhattan into providing her with large sums of cash, goods, and services. The events were later depicted in the Netflix series Inventing Anna, where Julia Garner portrayed Delvey and Shonda Rhimes served as showrunner

Delvey confessed that she was encouraged to participate in ABC’s reality dancing contest and subsequently granted approval by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), following her release from prison in 2021 after serving four years. Since then, she has been under house arrest as she battles her deportation case

She shared with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday that she ended up agreeing to do this, having first obtained approval from ICE. By then, it seemed there was no going back

Delvey will don an ankle bracelet during her competition. Her representative, Juda Engelmayer, verified to the Associated Press that Delvey can “roam within a 70-mile radius of her home base and anywhere within the five boroughs of New York City under her previous house arrest terms.”

When questioned about potential effects on her performance due to the presence of a monitor, Delvey suggested that it wouldn’t make any difference

“I was wondering how it might impact me, but it feels quite light,” she mentioned, then invited me to feel THR’s Neha Joy’s bracelet

Looking forward, Delvey expressed that participating in the show was primarily for her entertainment and possibly a bit of exercise as well

Delvey is teaming up with the fresh face, Ezra Sosa. Sosa acknowledged Delvey’s dancing skills and expressed his eagerness to the Hollywood Reporter, stating that he can’t wait for America to witness Delvey and her unique persona

He stated, “I believe the media portrayed her differently than who she truly is.” Later on, he expressed his excitement for people to encounter “the authentic Anna Delvey.”

Besides Delvey, other confirmed cast members encompass Dwight Howard, Tori Spelling, Eric Roberts, NFL champion Danny Amendola, actor Chandler Kinney, Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher, model Brooks Nader, reality TV personality Phaedra Parks, actor Reginald VelJohnson, and Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik

Joey Graziadei and Jenn Tran, who were recently featured on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette”, will also participate in the competition. Interestingly, Jenn’s finale was aired the night before this announcement. Following her unprecedented move to propose during the pre-recorded final episode, she revealed in the live “After the Final Rose” special that her chosen one, Devin Strader, had left her shocked by ending their engagement soon after filming concluded

On Tuesday, September 17th, Dancing with the Stars will air on ABC and Disney+, and you can start streaming it the following day on Hulu
