Anna Faris Reveals She Would Return to ‘Scary Movie’ Franchise Under Two Conditions

As a long-time fan of the Scary Movie franchise and having been captivated by Anna Faris‘ performance as Cindy Campbell since its inception in 2000, I can’t help but feel nostalgic about the potential return of this iconic character.

If Anna Faris is to appear in the next “Scary Movie,” there are a few conditions she wouldn’t compromise on.

Paramount and Miramax revealed this year that they’re producing another “Scary Movie” film following the release of director Malcolm D. Lee’s “Scary Movie 5” in 2013. The actress, who portrayed Cindy Campbell in the initial four installments from 2000 to 2006, discussed with People magazine her conditions for rejoining the upcoming production.

“Faris chuckled and exclaimed, ‘Money!’ But she’d be thrilled to take on the role again if only she knew that Regina Hall, her former Scary Movie co-star who portrayed her best friend Brenda, was set to rejoin the cast as well.”

“I really enjoy collaborating with Regina once more. She brings so much joy to me,” the actress of “My Spy: The Eternal City” expressed. “We’d spend our days laughing together, making it an enjoyable experience for both of us. If I had to choose, it would be Regina Hall, and a substantial compensation as well, but primarily because of my admiration for her.”

Later on, Faris shared how significantly those movies influenced her personal life and professional journey, particularly after she gained prominence with the release of the first one in the year 2000.

“I have a deep affection for that franchise. It served as my training ground, my foundation. If we were to draw a parallel to high school for my personal development, those four films significantly influenced my life. They taught me essential skills like working with props, taking falls, and even dealing with getting hit in the head. I learned how to subtly hold Chiclets in my mouth and then spit them out for the camera at just the right moments.”

The movie franchise primarily makes fun of horror flicks. Faris and Hall were absent from the cast of “Scary Movie 5.” Instead, Simon Rex and Ashley Tisdale headlined the production.
