If everything proceeds smoothly, I’d expect Verity to be released towards the end of 2025 or early 2026 since filming is currently underway. It’s great news, as my curiosity about this movie continues to grow with each new detail that surfaces.
Initially, Dakota Johnson is set to portray the character Lowen, joining Hartnett and Hathaway who will play Verity and Jeremy respectively. The casting alone piques my interest. Adding the fact that the actors from Interstellar and Oppenheimer are pairing up as a married couple only heightens my anticipation. I’m equally eager to see how Johnson’s portrayal of Lowen, the woman who enters the couple’s home during Verity’s coma, will unfold in the story.
Plus, I love a psychological thriller, and that’s exactly what Verity is, so sign me up.
Apart from everything else, Michael Showalter has been confirmed as the director for the film. He previously worked with Anne Hathaway on “The Idea of You” (available on Amazon Prime), a movie I absolutely love. Given this, it’s clear that these two pair exceptionally well in book-to-screen adaptations, and “Verity” could be an intriguing and unique sequel to their previous collaboration.
Instead of “It Starts With Us” appearing less probable, Hoover’s next film seems like a promising move in the right direction. Given the ongoing legal disputes between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, it appears that a resolution may not be reached soon. As of now, there has been no announcement regarding a sequel to “It Ends With Us”, and while anything is possible, I would be surprised if one were ever produced under the current circumstances.
