Annette Bening to Chair Entertainment Community Fund’s Celebrity Poker Tournament

As a long-time enthusiast of both poker and the performing arts scene, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Lights! Camera! Ante Up! Celebrity Poker Tournament. With the esteemed Annette Bening at the helm as chair, it promises to be an unforgettable event that truly embodies the spirit of camaraderie and giving back within our industry.

I can hardly contain my excitement! In just a bit, it’ll be time for me, along with other gaming enthusiasts, to put our poker skills to the test at the Entertainment Community Fund’s second annual Lights! Camera! Ante Up! Celebrity Poker Tournament. Let’s see who’ll be crowned the champion this year!

On September 8, the event will be held at Candela La Brea in Los Angeles, with Annette Bening serving as chair and Joely Fisher as co-chair. This isn’t Bening’s first time in this role; she also chairs ECF. She took over from Brian Stokes Mitchell last summer, who had served the organization for 19 years prior. The purpose of this poker tournament is to promote awareness for ECF and provide funds for those working in the performing arts and entertainment industry. Last year’s initial event managed to raise over $170,000.

As a gamer, I’m pumped to share the stage with some familiar faces at this year’s event! Reggie Austin, known for his roles in “Pretty Little Liars” and “Agent Carter”, will be there, as well as William Stanford Davis from “Abbott Elementary” and “Ray Donovan”. Also joining us are Alexis Floyd, who I recognize from “Inventing Anna” and “Grey’s Anatomy”, Lilli Kay from “Rustin” and “Yellowstone”, Mekhi Phifer of “ER” and “8 Mile”, and Andrea Savage, star of “Veep” and “Stepbrothers”. Mindy Cohn, a favorite from “The Facts of Life” and “Palm Royale”, will also be there as a special guest. More players are expected to join us too! Can’t wait to play with this awesome cast!

“Bening stated that this poker tournament is not just about playing cards, but a fantastic chance for us to connect and contribute to the world of entertainment. I’m honored to co-chair this year’s event with my fellow professional. For many years, the Fund has been an indispensable aid for numerous industry workers, particularly during tough times like the global pandemic and 2023 strikes. Assisting those who keep our industry vibrant is a privilege and an honor.”
