As a film enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about CBS’s upcoming 2025-2026 season lineup! Just last week, nine shows were given a renewal, including “Fire Country,” “NCIS,” and “Ghosts.” Yet, one of my personal favorite series from the current 2025 TV schedule seems to be missing from that list. The fans are already expressing their concerns, fearing it might end up on this year’s canceled shows list. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for its continuation!
With CBS shaping up its lineup for the next TV season, @TVCancelBeast speculates that shows such as “The Neighborhood,” “Poppa’s House,” and one of the “FBI” spinoffs might be facing cancellation. Many others share this view, and these sorts of predictions are causing concern among fans.
It seems likely that The Neighborhood will be granted another season, potentially its final one. On the other hand, Poppa’s House may not continue anymore.
Over the course of seven thrilling seasons, I’ve been captivated by “The Neighborhood,” a show that never fails to amuse me with its incisive wit and insightful social commentary. As a fan, I can’t help but appreciate the stellar performance of Cedric the Entertainer in this CBS sitcom. The storyline revolves around a white family, led by the kindest soul from the Midwest, who embark on an exciting journey as they move into a predominantly Black neighborhood in the suburbs of L.A., where not everyone is quite as eager to extend a warm welcome.
For quite some time now, this comedy show has masterfully combined hilarity with profound discussions, which is precisely why ardent followers such as @JerseyGirl0223 can’t help but plead for its revival.
@CBS please renew #TheNeighborhood
You might feel the anxiety of not finding your favorite series, The Neighborhood, among the upcoming seasons’ renewals, given the frequent changes in TV networks’ lineups. Although a popular show like The Neighborhood has garnered 4.7 million viewers and ranks as CBS’s 17th most-watched program, its audience ratings dropped by 16% following the sixth season premiere in 2024. Surprisingly, it was still renewed for a seventh season, which premiered on October 21st of that year.
According to TVCancelBeast, the sitcom “Poppa’s House” might also be ending soon. But it seems that viewers like @mzcaramelbunni may not mourn its departure as much as they would miss “The Neighborhood.
I’d hate for #poppashouse to get cancelled, but I have to admit it’s not as funny as #TheNeighborhood for me. However, when Calvin and his friends appear, I can’t help but laugh out loud. On the other hand, Poppa doesn’t quite do it for me yet. They could use some adjustments.
As a devoted movie buff, I fully comprehend the fervor behind saving shows like “The Neighborhood” and “Poppa’s House”. With “The Neighborhood” being on air for seven years and “Poppa’s House” for one, it’s clear why its audience is so deeply invested. The thought of losing these shows after years of dedicated viewing would be a significant blow to many fans who have grown attached over the past decade in the case of “The Neighborhood”.
As a fellow enthusiast, I too find myself on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating the upcoming events in the movie, all while engaging in spirited discussions with like-minded individuals on various online platforms. Here’s a snapshot of some intriguing perspectives shared by other fans:
1. “I can’t wait to see how this plot twist unfolds! The trailer left me intrigued and I have high hopes for the movie.”
2. “The casting choices are impressive, but I wonder if they’ll live up to the characters as we know them from the books/comics/previous movies.”
3. “The cinematography looks stunning in the teaser trailers. If the visuals are consistent throughout, this could be a contender for Best Cinematography at next year’s awards!”
4. “The director has promised a darker tone compared to previous installments. I’m excited to see how they explore deeper themes and character development.”
5. “I’ve always been a fan of the franchise, but I hope this movie will bring something fresh and unexpected that keeps it feeling new and exciting for longtime viewers.”
- How has #theneighborhood not been greenlit for at least another season @CBS and the FBI shows and SWAT. Get those renewals now. 😡- @SeaPry
- If the Malcolm and Marty spin-off gets the green light, then the best move would be to hold it for midseason, and give The Neighborhood a 13-episode final season as closure for the fans.- @MrRobbins10
- Well I doubt #TheNeighborhood is in danger and I want #TheEqualizer to come back so here’s hoping something good happens soon.- @Cullen7891
Although nothing has been finalized, it’s evident that a group of enthusiasts strongly desire the continuation of this series. Consequently, if it gets canceled, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they vigorously campaign for its revival.
Indeed, it’s not uncommon for this to occur. For instance, when Fox’s “Prodigal Son” was axed after two seasons, a fan petition emerged. Similarly, the termination of “My Lady Jane” after just one season ignited a petition from upset fans. And let’s not forget about “So Help Me Todd,” which faced cancellation on CBS following two seasons, with numerous petitions initiated by disgruntled viewers.
It’s clear fans aren’t ready for “The Neighborhood” to stop making us laugh after seven seasons. With a spinoff in development, it seems premature to wrap up the series. Here’s hoping our beloved sitcom continues to entertain us!
Don’t forget to tune in to the season finale of The Neighborhood on CBS this coming March 3rd at 8 p.m. ET, or catch it on Paramount+ the following day if you have a subscription. Alternatively, you can stream the first five seasons of The Neighborhood with a Hulu subscription.
