According to a confirmation from The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony Hopkins is one of the people in the Los Angeles area whose homes were destroyed by the Palisades Fire.
It’s been discovered that Hopkins and his spouse were the owners of two homes located in the Palisades, unfortunately, both properties were destroyed by fire.
In photographs published by People magazine, the Pacific Palisades residence of the Welsh actor is visible as a burnt-out shell, with just concrete pillars remaining and a stone walkway on the property.
On more than one occasion, this acclaimed actor has faced property damage from fires. Back in 2000, it was said that he lost a house in London due to a fire. Furthermore, his Pacific Palisades residence narrowly avoided being destroyed by the Woolsey Fire in 2018, as reported by TMZ. Just recently, TMZ has also shared that the actor is currently in the U.K. this week.
Among numerous well-known celebrities from Hollywood, Hopkins is one of those who sadly experienced the loss of their homes. Notable figures like Mandy Moore, Anna Faris, Paris Hilton, Milo Ventimiglia, Bozoma Saint John, Jeff Bridges, Billy Crystal, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Cary Elwes, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, Ricki Lake, Jhené Aiko, and record producer Lou Adler have all confirmed that they too have suffered the same fate.
On Tuesday, wildfires ignited in Pacific Palisades, eventually reaching areas of Malibu and Santa Monica by the night. By Thursday evening, Governor Gavin Newsom reported that the Palisades Fire was 60% under control. As Friday morning arrived, authorities confirmed that the Eaton Fire was 30% contained.
At present, the Lidia fire is almost entirely under control, with 75% of it contained, while the Kenneth fire remains somewhat active at 35% containment. Regrettably, the Los Angeles County medical examiner reports a total of 10 fatalities linked to these fires.
Beginning on Tuesday, the Palisades Fire, situated in the coastal region between Santa Monica and Malibu, has evolved into the county’s most devastating natural calamity to date. Over 17,000 acres have been affected and are currently ablaze.

On Tuesday night, Palisades Charter High School was destroyed by fire. This school, popular for filming, has been the location for various productions such as Brian De Palma’s 1976 horror movie “Carrie,” the remake of “Freaky Friday” in 2003, the TV series “Teen Wolf,” Nima Nourizadeh’s 2012 film “Project X,” and the 2001 teen rom-com “Crazy/Beautiful.” Due to this incident, filming of TV shows like ABC’s “Doctor Odyssey,” “The Rookie,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has temporarily halted. Other productions in the affected area have also stopped.
Events in Hollywood have been postponed, and the announcement of the Oscar nominees has been moved to January 19th.
