Anurag Kashyap lands in legal trouble over ‘derogatory and casteist remark’ against Brahmins? Details inside

Renowned film director Anurag Kashyap finds himself in another round of controversy due to his recent comments criticizing the Brahmin community. These comments sparked strong criticism from viewers. Now, a complaint has been lodged against him for his offensive and discriminatory remarks towards Brahmins.

Lately, a user made a comment on Anurag’s post that translates to, “Brahmins are your ancestors. The more you provoke them, the more they will retaliate.” In response to this user, the filmmaker wrote, “Will I pee on Brahmins… is there a problem with that?

As a devoted supporter, I’m sharing that I, being Ashutosh J Dubey, an advocate and currently leading the Social Media Legal and Advisory Department of BJP Maharashtra, have taken action. I recently submitted a formal complaint to the Mumbai Police, aiming to initiate a First Information Report (FIR) against Anurag Kashyap due to his disrespectful comments about the Brahmin community. In my submission, I expressed my concerns using these words: “I have officially filed a complaint with @MumbaiPolice concerning @anuragkashyap72’s offensive and casteist statement ‘Brahmin pe main mootoonga .. koi problem?’

He added, “Such hate speech cannot be tolerated in a civil society. The law must take its course.”

Anurag Kashyap hasn’t responded to the complaint yet.

This captivating project stars Pratik Gandhi as the revered social reformer Jyotirao Phule and Patralekhaa as his remarkable wife, Savitribai Phule. However, this compelling tale has garnered opposition from certain Brahmin groups in Maharashtra who argue that it misrepresents their community.

Am I bothering the Brahmins… is there a problem?

Following criticism over his remark, he turned to Instagram and posted that his daughter, loved ones, and close companions have been subjected to threatening messages of sexual assault.

This version aims to keep the original intent while using more natural and less confrontational language.

He mentioned that while he still supports his main point, he wishes a specific part of it hadn’t caused misunderstanding and been taken out of context. He further stated, “No statement or remark is valuable enough for your daughter, loved ones, and associates to receive rape and death threats from influential figures, under the guise of morality.
