As a lifestyle expert reflecting on the journey of Anurag Kashyap, I find myself in awe of his resilience and versatility in the world of cinema. Born into the realm of Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya, he has since carved out an indelible niche for himself with groundbreaking films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Gulaal, Manmarziyaan, Black Friday, and many more.
Born into show business as part of Ram Gopal Varma’s directorial project, Satya, Anurag Kashyap has become a significant figure in Bollywood. His work in Hindi cinema, such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Gulaal, Manmarziyaan, Black Friday, and numerous others, has earned him widespread acclaim. On his birthday today (September 10), let’s look back at the moment when director-actor Kashyap made Manoj Bajpayee chase him with a stone in hand.
During a special episode of The Kapil Sharma Show commemorating the 10-year anniversary of Gangs of Wasseypur, host Kapil Sharma recalled an amusing story about director Anubhav Sinha that he had shared with him. In this tale, Manoj Bajpayee and Anurag Kashyap were involved in a humorous incident.
In simpler terms, Anurag Kashyap narrated an incident where Manoj got emotional and chased after someone due to feeling offended. This happened outside Gulzar’s house. Kashyap mentioned that during Hansal Mehta’s cooking show, he and Manoj were frequently invited to taste the food.
As an ardent admirer, I must confess, our perpetual hunger drove us to the tasting sessions. It was during one of those encounters that a heartfelt discussion unfolded, and Manoj’s emotions were palpably stirred, as Kashyap shared.
If I insulted Manoj in front of Gulzar Sahab, he picked up a stone and ran after me, with Hansal attempting to halt our confrontation. Subsequently, we both sat on the roadside and embraced each other in consolation. He concluded by saying this.
In various films, such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Satya, and Shool, Anurag Kashyap has teamed up with Manoj Bajpayee. Interestingly, Kashyap directed the Gangs of Wasseypur series, but he also co-wrote a screenplay for Ram Gopal Varma’s 1998 film and served as a dialogue writer for Eeshwar Nivas’ 1999 production. Most recently, as an actor, Anurag Kashyap appeared in the Tamil mystery film Maharaja alongside Vijay Sethupathi earlier this year.
Happy Birthday, Anurag Kashyap.
