As a seasoned tech enthusiast with a knack for multitasking and a penchant for efficient communication, I must say that the latest Apple Intelligence update has caught my attention. Having spent countless hours juggling work emails, personal messages, and notes, the Writing Tools feature seems like a game-changer. The ability to rewrite my texts in different tones without having to manually adjust them is an absolute blessing for someone who often finds themselves toggling between professional and friendly correspondence.
In the rollout of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, Apple’s homegrown Artificial Intelligence makes its debut. This initial release brings a host of new tools intended to streamline tasks and enhance efficiency.
Writing Tools is available across Mail, Messages, Notes, and third-party apps. Under this category, there’s a feature called Rewrite that generates alternative versions of the text you’ve written in varying tones – for example, a friendlier or more professional one. Proofread, on the other hand, reviews grammar and sentence structure, making suggestions for improvements.
The Photo application has been redesigned to simplify the process of finding pictures for users. For example, if a user wants to find a picture of “Maya skateboarding in a tie-dye shirt,” they can do so easily. Additionally, the Clean Up feature enables users to swiftly edit photos and eliminate unnecessary background elements.
Siri now seamlessly operates within the system, assisting across a wide range of applications. Additionally, the bot is capable of providing more comprehensive answers regarding Apple products, helping users perform various tasks on their devices with ease.
Additional features like creating Genmojis and utilizing the Image Wand, a tool that converts drawings into photos, will become available with the upcoming OS update in December. Furthermore, Apple plans to progressively introduce more functionalities over the next few months.
You can access the initial suite of Apple Intelligence features for free on iPhone 15 Pro and subsequent models, as well as iPad and Mac devices running iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 respectively. However, to use these features, your device should be set to US English.
