Apple’s New UFO Film: A Blockbuster Collaboration with Whistleblower Grusch!

Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer aim to replicate the financial triumph they achieved with “Top Gun: Maverick” in their new summer blockbuster, titled “F1”. Remarkably, this duo seems to be joining forces again. The sequel to the $1 billion-earning “Top Gun: Maverick”, named “F1”, is being developed by Apple and is slated as Apple’s major summer blockbuster, along with a joint distribution agreement with Warner Bros. Contrary to recent speculation suggesting that Apple Studios, through Apple TV+ and their theatrical releases, are incurring losses, Apple appears to be pouring significant resources into the creative team behind “F1”.

According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” Apple has sealed a multi-million dollar agreement for a yet-unnamed movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski (famous for “Tron: Legacy”), produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (known for “Pirates of the Caribbean”), and written by Zach Baylin (“King Richard”). This film is said to focus on mysterious phenomena in the sky, previously referred to as Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO), now known as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). Following the success of “Top Gun: Maverick,” Kosinski secured an impressive eight-figure deal for his role as director and producer, placing him on par with industry giants like Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan. The team is also welcoming David Grusch aboard as associate producer and consultant. Grush is a recognized figure due to his whistleblowing activities regarding UAPs and extraterrestrial life.

David Grusch, a former U.S. Air Force officer and intelligence expert, alleges that the U.S. government is partnering with private space companies for clandestine projects related to retrieving extraterrestrial spacecraft and their deceased operators. According to Grush, these ventures aim to study and replicate these alien crafts. He also suggests that individuals have been intimidated or even killed, while illegal activities have been perpetrated, to maintain secrecy about these operations. However, NASA and the Department of Defense have refuted Grusch’s claims, stating there is no evidence to support them. Despite this, the subject has sparked intense debate. On July 26, 2023, The United States House Committee on Oversight and Accountability convened a hearing where Grush presented his views publicly.

The Truth Is Out there…at Least at the Cinema

In the coming days, Jerry Bruckheimer and Joseph Kosinski, along with Grusch, are joining forces for a new project, which continues the increasing number of films focusing on what was once known as UFO incidents. The movie, yet to be distributed, was first shown at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 9, 2025, and aims to explore the supposed reality and governmental concealment of extraterrestrial life. On the other hand, Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film is a highly anticipated blockbuster shrouded in secrecy, believed to revolve around UFOs and extraterrestrial beings. This movie, produced by Universal Pictures, is scheduled for release in May 2026.

It appears there’s an increasing interest in movies centered around extraterrestrial life, particularly UAPs, and Hollywood is eager to capitalize on this trend. As of now, Apple hasn’t announced a release date for its UAP movie, but it’s hoped that Kosinski can speed up the production process compared to his previous film. The sequel to Top Gun, titled Top Gun: Maverick, was postponed for two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the filming of F1 was halted during the summer of 2023 due to a SAG-AFTRA strike. If F1 turns out to be both a commercial and critical success, it will undoubtedly heighten anticipation for Kosinski and Bruckheimer’s upcoming project.
