Despite persistent speculation about his ambitions, Ted Sarandos, the co-CEO of Netflix, has consistently denied any interest in taking over Disney’s top position. At a Wall Street Journal conference in October, he made it clear that the role wasn’t on his mind at all. Given the impressive success he’s had in creating a streaming service that revolutionized the entertainment industry and sent Netflix’s stock soaring (currently trading around $1,200 per share), one might wonder why he would want Disney. However, Disney does have an advantage that Netflix lacks: theme parks. In an effort to diversify its offerings beyond streaming, Netflix has been delving into experiential entertainment more and more. For instance, the Squid Game experience has recently expanded to London, giving fans a chance to immerse themselves in a capitalist dystopia. If Netflix were to expand into theme parks, here are some ideas for attractions at Netflix World.
IT’S A SMALL SCREEN, AFTER ALL
If you haven’t already known, Netflix is a global platform. Shows such as “Peppa Pig” and “My Little Pony” attract children from all corners of the world, each one watching from their unique homes. Here, we get a glimpse of how kids worldwide enjoy streaming content. A tablet in Thailand, a smartphone in France, a PlayStation in Peru – it’s fascinating to witness the universal connection through entertainment!
GREAT MOMENTS WITH MR. HASTINGS
It’s significant to honor our ancestors, and an animatronic version of Reed Hastings will share with visitors the fascinating story of Netflix – its modest start as a DVD-by-mail service and its spectacular ascension to become a premier streaming platform. On the hour, there will be a special replay where he reads excerpts from Netflix’s original culture memo.

TUDUM!
Upon arriving at the park, guests will encounter Ted and Eleven who are stationed near Netflix Castle. This is where Netflix stores its data, located in the tallest tower. It’s a mystery how many people have watched your show, neither you nor your representative can answer that question definitively.
In this version, I’ve made a few changes to make the text more conversational and easier to read:
– Changed “As they enter” to “Upon arriving at” for smoother flow.
– Clarified that Ted and Eleven are stationed near Netflix Castle instead of just holding court there.
– Rewrote “Where the streamer keeps its data in the highest turret” as “This is where Netflix stores its data, located in the tallest tower.”
– Simplified “It’s a mystery how many people have watched your show, neither you and not your agent, that’s for sure.” to “It’s a mystery how many people have watched your show, neither you nor your representative can answer that question definitively.

HAUNTED MOVIE THEATER
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that since 2019, about 5,700 movie screens in North America have gone dark – a trend accelerated by the pandemic, but streaming giants like Netflix have played a significant role too. If you’re brave enough, you can explore these ghostly suburban multiplexes, where you might even spot a Netflix specter or two. Maybe you’ll find remnants of a planned Nancy Meyers comeback rom-com, now resting in impeccably decorated silence.

TRUE CRIME MERRY-GO-ROUND
This carousel centered around intriguing genres never seems to stop rotating, featuring stories about serial killers, cult leaders, and online deception (catfish-ers). Whether you’re watching a documentary or reading nonfiction, it’s hard not to find yourself asking, “Didn’t I already watch/read something similar?

TUNNEL OF LOVE IS BLIND
If they prefer watching reality TV over setting up a Hinge date, visitors are welcome to leisurely drift along a river and discover if luck – or perhaps Vanessa and Nick Lachey – has something in store for them. It’s quite possible that the winner will turn out to be a real estate agent from Albuquerque.

CHRISTMAS TREE LANE
Regardless if it’s through cable or streaming platforms, there’s more than enough holiday spirit to be found. Visitors can drop by a charming bakery, a quaint bookstore in a small town, or even a cozy house that once belonged to an old flame! Adding to the festive atmosphere is none other than Lindsay Lohan, who can often be spotted wandering the streets during the Christmas season.

PRESTIGE TENT
Though it’s less frequented among park visitors, this area is bustling with significant projects – specifically, legacy works by auteur directors that might struggle to secure funding from studios with a higher risk tolerance. Despite lacking box office success, these films have found their way onto the big screen, at least in New York and Los Angeles for a fortnight.
This less-popular spot within the park houses crucial work – primarily unique auteur projects that often face funding challenges due to their higher risk profiles at more conservative studios. Regardless of box office performance, these films are still being screened, albeit for a limited time in New York and Los Angeles.
