Ariana Grande Had A Big Plan For The Time Between Filming Wicked Movies, But She's Already Backtracked

As a long-time fan of Ariana Grande, I can’t help but be in awe of the incredible year she’s had so far. It’s not every day that a pop star takes on such massive projects as filming for a highly anticipated musical adaptation and releasing a new album – all while dealing with personal matters.

As a huge fan of Ariana Grande since her early days in Nickelodeon and then watching her grow into a pop sensation, I’m thrilled to see her comeback year filled with exciting projects. Her upcoming role in “Wicked” is a dream come true for both her and us fans. The behind-the-scenes sneak peeks have only fueled our anticipation for the film’s release this fall.

The singer-actress “Thank You, Next” wrapped up filming in January and dropped her album in March. In other words, she had a full plate. Her schedule is far from light, as filming for the next installment of John M. Chu’s movie is scheduled to begin soon. Despite this heavy workload, it appears that the Grammy-winning artist was contemplating fitting in some live performances among her filming commitments, according to last week’s “Shut Up Evan” podcast.

A pleasant suggestion I have is to intersperse some shows between the two Wicked film productions. I believe there’s an opportunity for this, and here’s why: Due to various reasons, a full-scale tour like my previous ones won’t be feasible. Instead, I envision short presentations or previews of these shows as an intriguing alternative.

Ariana Grande, known for her hit song “The Boy Is Mine,” has experienced an eventful year. She’s stepping into the role of Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of “Wicked,” replacing Kristin Chenoweth who’s happy for Grande’s new opportunity. In addition, Grande released a long-awaited album and numerous music videos. Her co-star in “Scream Queens” and “Wicked,” Cynthia Erivo, accompanied her to various award shows and press events, where they showcased outfits based on their characters, generating excitement among fans. Despite these accomplishments, Grande went through a divorce amid allegations of infidelity with her current serious partner, Ethan Slater.

The pop star’s Instagram stories revealed that she had made the difficult decision to pause her music career, as reported by The Sun.

I have an immense affection for each of you. For the time being, I’ll pause my involvement in anything not related to Wicked. I appreciate your support and patience during this transition. I’m profoundly eager and inexplicably excited about what lies ahead. There’s so much to look forward to! I’ll be reuniting with you soon.

As a dedicated fan of Ariana Grande for years now, I can’t help but feel drained just thinking about all that she has gone through and accomplished in 2021 alone. And we’re not even at the halfway point of this year! It’s no wonder she decided to take a well-deserved break during her short filming hiatus.

It’s hard to believe that self-proclaimed fans are claiming that “Wicked” has ruined her. But hold up, isn’t this the role she’s cherished for a lifetime? Really, think about it.

Another user, @mercurysdragon, on X agreed, adding their appalled reaction:

I must be misunderstanding the Ariana situation here. With her new album “wicked” releasing in just four months, she’s undeniably thrilled about it. The promotion for the album will soon begin, bringing an abundance of content our way, and she’ll surely enjoy every moment of it. I fail to grasp how this is a negative turn of events.

Also sympathizing with the singer was @Haruyuki2039, who simply said:

Take some rest girl.

Ariana Grande’s loyal supporters appear to approve of her choice and are thrilled for her. I’m pleased that she has such dedicated fans by her side. I’m looking forward to seeing Wicked on November 22nd as much as the “positions” artist seems to be, making the theater an even more enticing destination. Additionally, the release of Gladiator 2 on the same day may bring about a resurgence of Russell Crowe’s iconic character, Barbenheimer.
