She emphasized that while Part 1 established and presented many aspects of the narrative, Part 2 delves deeper into the emotional unfolding of events involving Elphaba, Glinda, and other Oz residents, revealing the true outcomes between them. She stated:
Indeed, this sequel carries a unique and deeply moving quality. It beautifully portrays themes such as unconditional love, forgiveness, and friendship. Intriguingly, it deviates from its predecessor, and patience will reveal these differences. Moreover, viewers will witness characters experiencing the outcomes of decisions they made in the first film. Essentially, while the first movie centered around choices, the second explores the consequences of those choices.
The musical Wicked delves into the intricacies of relationship dynamics and the shaping of social and emotional dialogue. Although I admire Ariana Grande’s endorsement for the movie, it only increases my eagerness to grasp its meaning fully in nine months. Moreover, learning about Cynthia Erivo’s desire to watch sequel footage adds to my anticipation. I knew that waiting for the second film would be more challenging than the first, and with the two Emerald City stars discussing the movie, it seems like November can’t arrive soon enough!
