Growing up, Arjun Kapoor was primarily nurtured by his mother, Mona Shourie, as his father, Boney Kapoor, had a busy schedule and was frequently absent due to his work as a prominent producer during the 1990s. As Arjun matured, he spent most of his time with his father when he was on film sets. Recently, Arjun reminisced about spending quality time with his father on the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, a movie that also starred Sridevi and Anil Kapoor.
During an interview with Galatta India, Arjun Kapoor affectionately addressed Sridevi as “Aunt Sridevi” while recalling the times he spent with his father on the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja.
He mentioned that his entire relationship with his father was centered around the movie’s production, which he referred to as an epic film, boasting a budget of approximately 100 million rupees in 1992. Yet, despite its extravagant production, the movie, helmed by Satish Kaushik, flopped at the box office and led to substantial financial losses.
Arjun continued discussing the movie, bringing up “Sridevi ma’am,” his father’s spouse since 1996. He detailed the impressive ensemble, featuring Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Jackie Shroff (fondly known as “Jaggu dada”), and Anupam Kher, who portrayed the antagonist.
Apart from other memorable moments, Arjun affectionately remembered a bird character called Django, who shared screen time with Anil Kapoor, as his most cherished character during that movie.
Arjun mentioned that it was after visiting the movie sets of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja that his love for cinema started. On these sets, he also got to spend time with his father. He referred to the film as being “grandiose,” emphasizing its elaborate aspects such as eight melodious songs and a thrilling train robbery sequence.
During this period, while working on the film set, Arjun found himself developing a deep affection for the world of cinema. Moreover, he highlighted the fact that the set served as a special bonding ground between him and his father.
On the work front, Kapoor will be next seen in No Entry 2 with Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh.
