Armie Hammer Says He’s Selling His Truck Because He “Can’t Afford” the Gas Anymore

As a fervent admirer of Armie Hammer, witnessing his journey has been nothing short of captivating. The man who once drove a beloved truck across the country multiple times now trades it for a hybrid that requires just a fraction of the fuel. It’s a poignant symbol of his life transformation, from Hollywood heartthrob to a man seeking solace and stability amidst the storm.

Armie Hammer is swapping his cherished pickup truck for a compact hybrid vehicle, as he prepares to begin a fresh chapter of his life in Los Angeles.

The actor posted a video on social media from a car dealership in California, stating that he had been in Los Angeles for a few weeks, having returned following a stay in the Cayman Islands, where he went after being involved in a cannibalism controversy.

“He stated that the vehicle he’s referring to is his truck. He purchased it for himself back in 2017 as a personal Christmas gift, having had a fondness for pickup trucks over an extended period. This particular truck has been a cherished item, accompanying him on numerous camping trips, cross-country journeys, and long road excursions. Since returning to L.A., he’s filled it up with approximately $400 to $500 worth of gas, but the rising fuel costs have become unaffordable for him.”

Hammer went on, describing how the truck is filled with recollections: from driving his children home from the hospital after they were injured, to countless excursions, and so forth. “Here’s to fresh starts,” he said, mentioning that he’s swapping it for a vehicle that will only require about “$10 worth of gas per month.”

After being implicated in charges of rape, cannibalism, and sexual impropriety, the actor from “Call Me By Your Name” spent several years working as a timeshare representative on the Caribbean islands, following his departure from the country.

In a June interview, Hammer expressed his gratitude for the accusations that disrupted his career three years prior.

“Regardless of what others may have said or what transpired, I’ve reached a point in my life where I’m thankful for every part of it,” he shared on an episode of the Painful Lessons podcast. “I’m genuinely grateful for it now because prior to those experiences, I wasn’t content. I never felt fulfilled. I always yearned for more and never truly appreciated myself.”
