Arshad Warsi breaks silence over backlash on ‘joker’ comment on Prabhas: ‘It doesn’t bother me anymore’

As a seasoned actor and a connoisseur of the film industry, I have witnessed the ebb and flow of public sentiment, and I must say, Arshad Warsi‘s recent controversy has been quite an interesting ride. His joker remark about Prabhas’ character in Kalki 2898 AD stirred up a storm, but it seems our beloved actor has learned to laugh off the backlash like a true professional.

Actor Arshad Warsi found himself in a bit of trouble following his playful comment about Prabhas’ character in Kalki 2898 AD, which provoked upset from fans. Addressing this issue, Warsi has spoken out for the first time, stating that he no longer lets such criticism affect him and jokingly declared that he will continue to admire every actor for the rest of his life.

In his conversation with India Today, Arshad Warsi revealed that for the first time, he experienced negative backlash. He admitted that such negativity can influence even optimistic people. However, he emphasized that in a democratic setting, everyone is allowed their own opinions. Yet, he has reached a stage where such criticism no longer touches him.

He said, “However, we have been at a place where stones are thrown, so it doesn’t bother me anymore.”

After the recent uproar, it was observed that the actor Banda Singh Chaudhary had turned off the comment section on his social media profiles. When inquired about this, he jokingly confessed his lack of knowledge on how to perform this action.

Apart from discussing the impact of the recent event on his public statements, he playfully shared his revised stance towards movie evaluations, saying something like, “From now on, I’ll embrace every movie I see with all my heart, and admire each actor endearingly for eternity.

As a person who values transparency, I want to clarify that there has been some speculation about me intentionally causing a stir to promote my upcoming film. However, let me make it clear that at the time the incident occurred, I was not yet aware of the release schedule for my movie. It’s important to understand that unforeseen situations like these can’t be predicted or planned for, and one cannot manipulate controversies or their outcomes.

In August, during an interview with Samdish Bhatia on his podcast, the actor was asked about the last disappointing movie he had watched. He responded by mentioning Kalki 2898 AD and voicing his dissatisfaction with Prabhas’ performance, likening it to that of a jester.

Arshad shared his ideas and mentioned that he yearned for a more passionate portrayal, similar to what Mel Gibson delivered in Mad Max. He pondered over the reasons behind these artistic decisions, confessing his puzzlement regarding the film’s creative path.

After his statements, several notable figures in the Tamil film industry, such as actors Nani and Sudheer Babu, along with director Ajay Bhupathi, voiced their disapproval of Arshad Warsi’s choice of words. They advised him to express his opinions more carefully in the future.

Currently, Arshad Warsi is preparing for his next performances. In particular, he’s excited about appearing in the upcoming film Jolly LLB 3. Additionally, he will be seen in Banda Singh Chaudhary, a production by Arbaaz Khan and co-starring Meher Vij.
