As an ardent fan, I can’t help but be captivated by the electrifying tales of the legendary duo, Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi. Their adventures are not just confined to the silver screen but extend far beyond, painting a vivid picture of their larger-than-life personas off it too. The incident in Bangkok is a testament to their charisma that can make even the most audacious strangers quiver with fear, mistaking them for real-life gangsters!
Recently, Arshad Warsi shared a story about an incident in Bangkok where he and Sanjay Dutt, known for their iconic roles as Munna Bhai and Circuit, found themselves in a situation. A group of foreigners had disrespected Anusha Dandekar by catcalling her. As the situation escalated, a crowd of Sanjay Dutt’s fans appeared, supporting the actor. The foreigners, under the misconception that Sanjay was a local gangster, felt intimidated and quickly retreated, ending the altercation. Arshad described the incident by saying, “So, all of a sudden, these two foreigners thought they were some big shots from around here. They ran away.”
During a recent chat with Samdish Bhatia, Arshad Warsi shared an incident from their filming of Anthony Kaun Hai? in Bangkok. Following the day’s work, he, Sanjay Dutt, his friend Bittu, and Anusha Dandekar decided to grab a bite together. As they strolled, Arshad was out front, followed by Sanjay and Bittu, with Anusha setting the pace ahead. Suddenly, two foreigners spotted Anusha, prompting one of them to make a remark.
Later on, Arshad Warsi explained how things took a turn for the worse. As he drew nearer to the foreigners, he pointed out that they seemed particularly tall and intimidating – though, with a chuckle, he added that everyone appears towering to him. The foreigners were evidently under the influence of alcohol and their behavior was becoming increasingly hostile, suggesting a confrontation was imminent. Arshad held his ground, but then unexpectedly, Sanjay Dutt and Bittu appeared at his side. Both Sanjay and Bittu, who are as large as mountains in stature, added to the already tense atmosphere of the situation.
Arshad Warsi went on to explain how things took an unexpected turn in no time. It appeared as though a scuffle was imminent, but suddenly, Bittu stepped in and ordered someone to halt recording. Sanjay Dutt joined in, requesting they cease filming. He added, “Suddenly, we dropped the fight and told them to keep the camera. These two fair-skinned individuals were pondering, ‘What’s wrong with filming him?’ Everyone there kept murmuring, ‘Baba, baba.’ Amidst the commotion, those around them shouted, “Baba, baba,” causing the foreigners to presume that Sanjay and Bittu were local hoodlums. They swiftly departed from the scene, leading to a peculiar and unforeseen series of events.
During the same interview, Arshad Warsi shared his thoughts on the movie Kalki 2898 AD. He praised Amitabh Bachchan’s portrayal of Ashwatthama, but criticized Prabhas’s appearance in the film, stating it seemed as if he resembled a ‘clown’. Warsi proposed that Prabhas’s character could have been more effective with an appearance similar to Mel Gibson’s, instead of the one presented in the movie. His comments have sparked conversations within the South Indian film industry, leading to various reactions and discussions about his critique.
Currently, on the professional side, Arshad Warsi recently featured in the web series titled “Modern Love Mumbai”. Upcoming projects for him include collaborating with Akshay Kumar in the upcoming movie “Jolly LLB 3”.
