As a seasoned gamer and streetwear enthusiast with a soft spot for shoes that tell a story, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the ASICS x Carnival GT-2160 “Concrete Bloom“. Having lived through the vibrant chaos of urban jungles myself, I appreciate collaborations like these that capture the essence of city life. The blend of gray tones, metallic greens, and subtle pops of orange evoke a sense of grit, resilience, and beauty – much like the spirit of the people who thrive in tough environments.
As a gamer, I’m super excited to share that I’ve got my eyes on the latest collaboration between ASICS and Bangkok’s streetwear powerhouse, Carnival. This time around, they’ve cooked up something amazing – it’s none other than the GT-2160, fondly referred to as the “Concrete Bloom.” Can’t wait to get my hands on a pair!
In contrast to previous partnerships focusing on Muay Thai culture, this new model emphasizes the complexities and struggles of urban existence, drawing inspiration from themes prevalent in Bangkok cityscape. The design combines shades of gray with metallic green highlights and hints of subtle orange.
The shoe is designed to symbolize the resilience of people who flourish in challenging conditions, similar to how flowers blossom through pavement. Distinctive design features include the “Carnival” logo on the side of the shoe, a midsole in an off-white hue, and silver metallic embellishments scattered throughout.
From my gaming perspective, these kicks boast ASICS’ famed GEL cushioning and TRUSSTIC support system, ensuring comfort and balance throughout the day. As of now, I don’t have the retail price details, but these sneakers are scheduled to launch in early September. Excitingly, you can try your luck with a raffle starting on August 29, directly through Carnival’s official app.
