In simple terms, the schedule for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is packed with exciting content to entertain players for extended periods. One of the upcoming features includes an amusing parkour update which essentially offers fresh jumping motions as downloadable content.
On April 30th, Ubisoft revealed the Year 1 plan for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. As anticipated, this roadmap showcases improvements to gameplay quality as well as substantial downloadable content updates planned for the open-world game set in feudal Japan.
As a dedicated gamer diving deep into the world of Gfinity, I can confidently say their podcast game has been an incredible journey for me and my fellow gamers. However, even with our shared adoration, there were aspects that needed refinement, particularly in traversal mechanics. The current parkour system felt a bit rough around the edges, missing the fluidity of past installments. But fear not, I’m ready to spearhead the change, making those leaps and bounds feel as smooth and satisfying as ever once again.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share the exciting news that the developers are taking our feedback into account for Assassin’s Creed Shadows! In late May, we can look forward to a parkour update that will significantly enhance our climbing experience by incorporating additional animations and prompts.
However, it’s worth noting that these improvements will primarily affect Naoe’s gameplay, as Yasuke was not designed with stealth as his main focus. So, let’s gear up for an even more agile and seamless adventure in the world of Shadows!
Three changes are coming to parkour:
- Height-gaining back ejects
- Height-gaining back ejects
- New vertical ledge jump
While it may seem minor at first glance, witnessing it in motion certainly suggests that this new parkour system could prove to be a significant enhancement compared to the existing one. Frankly, I can’t help but ponder why these animations weren’t included from the outset of the game.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Year 1 Roadmap
In other places, Ubisoft announced an array of both free and paid DLC releases, including the premium Claws of Awaji expansion, which is set to arrive later this year. This expansion will unveil fresh locations to discover, additional narrative content that follows on from Shadows’ ending, and a brand new weapon for Naoe.
In simple terms, you can expect some free story content starting from early May, followed by another installment in June. This means there will be exciting reasons to revisit the game over the next few months. Additionally, we’ve hinted at some special collaborations, but we don’t have any details about what they involve yet.
