ASUS Announces ‘Ceraluminium Signature Edition’ Zenbook Laptops

ASUS unveiled four exclusive editions of their Zenbook laptops, each built with an innovative material called Ceraluminum, a lightweight substance developed by the company itself.

The Ceraluminum Signature Edition series showcases four laptops designed with colors inspired by stunning natural landscapes, drawing inspiration from locations such as Jordan’s Wadi Rum and Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives. This collection aims to mirror the raw beauty of nature, and it does so through an organic color scheme. For instance, one model is a sleek all-black design with a rough texture mimicking volcanic rock, which ASUS calls “Obsidian Black”. Another option features bright dots and is called “Luminous Blue”, mirroring the bioluminescent plankton that illuminate Vaadhoo Island’s shores in the Maldives. The “Pamukkale White” model has gold specks, reminiscent of the mineral-rich water cascading down white rock hills in Pamukkale, Turkey. Lastly, a “Terra Mocha” colorway, resembling the sandstone and granite rock of Jordan’s Wadi Rum, completes the collection, also known as the “Valley of the Moon”, a UNESCO World Heritage site with ancient petroglyphs left behind by prehistoric civilizations.

ASUS’ innovative material, Ceraluminum – a blend of ceramic and aluminum – is one of their latest creations. Unlike traditional full-metal or plastic laptops, Ceraluminum offers an appealing mix of both. According to ASUS, this technology combines the lightness of metal with the robustness of ceramics by a process they call “ceramizing” aluminum. In our hands-on experience with a recently launched ASUS Zenbook featuring a Ceraluminum body, we found it to be exceptionally lightweight and highly durable, capable of enduring the daily rigors of commuting in a backpack.

ASUS hasn’t specified when their new product line will be released yet, so keep an eye out for further updates!
