Apart from “Avengers: Endgame”, all previous “Avengers” films typically debuted in May. However, since “Endgame” premiered on April 26th, 2019, it could almost be included in that category. Now, the pattern of late April/May releases is being disrupted. The official announcement has been made that “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” have both been postponed. This delay in release dates for these upcoming Marvel movies leaves me curious about potential changes for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day“.
First things first, let me share some significant updates. The events known as “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars,” initially scheduled for May 1, 2026, and May 7, 2027, respectively, have been postponed to December 18, 2026, and December 17, 2027. According to our sources who talked with Deadline, these date shifts are primarily to provide additional time for realizing an extraordinary vision. Moreover, Marvel Studios is said to have made this choice due to their success in the “holiday corridor,” as demonstrated by Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.
