The list of actors set to appear in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Avengers: Doomsday keeps expanding, and although most of the names being added are predictable, there’s one name that has particularly caught attention so far. It turns out that a villain from the MCU who is highly skilled but regrettably overlooked will be making a comeback in the franchise after a long hiatus since their initial appearance.
According to the video update, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, who stars in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” was seen alongside regular Marvel Cinematic Universe figures like Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, and Anthony Mackie. Notably, Huerta will reprise his role as Namor, a character who sometimes acts as a villain but also exhibits heroic qualities, although this news comes as somewhat of a surprise because Namor hasn’t been involved in the franchise since his appearance in the 2022 “Black Panther” sequel. There has also been little hint that he would return to the series.
It appears that Marvel Studios had chosen to keep it under wraps, but it’s official now: Namor will appear alongside characters like Thor, Ant-Man, Captain America, and will reunite with Letitia Wright’s Shuri (Black Panther), who has also been confirmed for the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.
