As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that I’ve been appointed as the CEO of Avex Music Group, a fresh venture by the Japanese entertainment giant Avex, effective from this morning!
In the arrangement, Avex, a former investor in Silverstein’s firm S10, has taken over S10’s music publishing portfolio, as announced by the company. Moreover, it was stated that Avex also boosted its investment in S10 Management, thus securing the largest stake in the company alongside Silverstein and Roc Nation.
This investment underscores Avex’s growing attention towards the U.S. market, as they established S10 Publishing as a joint venture with Silverstein back in 2020. It’s important to note that Silverstein’s record label, S10 Records, is not included in this agreement and will continue to operate independently. The previous Avex USA team will now be integrated under Avex Music Group. In return, Silverstein will receive an ownership share in the company and become a member of its board of directors.
Following the establishment of our strategic alliance with Brandon Silverstein in 2020, our influence in the U.S. market has grown significantly. Now, we’re elevating this momentum even further,” stated Avex CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa. By increasing our involvement and appointing Brandon to oversee our American operations, we are not only broadening our reach but also projecting Avex as a formidable player in the global music industry.
Avex failed to reveal the financial aspects of the acquisition.
S10’s publishing portfolio encompasses rights to popular songs such as Justin Bieber’s “Peaches,” Jack Harlow’s “First Class,” Tate McRae’s “Greedy” and Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby.” Silverstein currently manages Big Sean, Myke Towers, and singer-actress Madison Bailey. Prior to this, Silverstein handled artists like Anitta and Normani in the past.
