Ayo Edebiri Gets Invited To John Malkovich’s Creepy Cult in A24’s ‘Opus’

A24 has dropped off the bizarre trailer for Mark Anthony Green’s directorial debut, Opus.

As a gamer diving headfirst into an upcoming horror flick, I find myself stepping into the shoes of Ariel, a budding writer with a knack for uncovering intriguing tales. I receive an invitation to explore the secluded lair of pop icon Alfred Moretti (John Malkovich), who mysteriously vanished 30 years ago. With a story that could catapult me into the limelight, I can’t resist the offer.

Upon arrival, I’m met by Moretti’s adoring followers – a motley crew of sycophants and booze-fueled journalists. However, it quickly becomes evident that the enigmatic star has some dark schemes brewing for his latest opus – plans as twisted as the movie itself.

Edebiri and Malkovich will be joined by Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Stephanie Suganami, and Tatanka Means in the movie’s cast. This film is scheduled to debut at the Midnight section of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival towards the end of this month.

Watch the trailer above. Opus hits theaters March 14.
