As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with a soft spot for action-packed flicks, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming sequel to “Nobody 2”. The return of Christopher Lloyd, best known for his iconic role as Doc Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, is just the cherry on top of this already enticing production.
In eager anticipation, the highly awaited sequel, titled “Nobody 2,” is set to hit 88mph! It’s confirmed that Christopher Lloyd, famous for his role in Back to the Future as Doc Brown, will be back alongside Bob Odenkirk in this action-packed movie. This thrilling news comes from Deadline, who have disclosed that Lloyd, best recognized for his giant shotgun-wielding character David Mansell, will return to reprise his role.
In the beloved “Back to the Future” trilogy, Lloyd played the iconic character Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown, yet his impressive acting career extends far beyond this role. Notably, he’s recognized for portraying various characters such as the quirky scientist in the popular sitcom “Taxi,” the patient Randle McMurphy in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” and the mysterious Uncle Fester in “The Addams Family.” Recently, Lloyd garnered a Primetime Emmy nomination for his outstanding guest appearance as himself in the comedy-drama series “Hacks,” where he portrays an unusual mentor to a struggling writer.
Last year in March, I stumbled upon the debut of Nobody, a gripping tale starring Bob Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell. At first glance, Hutch appears to be an unassuming family man, but beneath his mild-mannered exterior lies a reservoir of untapped fury. When two burglars invade his suburban haven one fateful night, Hutch’s repressed anger erupts, igniting dormant instincts and sending him on a brutal journey that unearths hidden secrets and latent skills. The movie was an instant sensation, earning applause from critics and viewers alike and raking in over $57M worldwide, all while sticking to a production budget of just $16 million.
Nobody 2 Now Has the Perfect Action Movie Director
Beyond this thrilling announcement, it’s been confirmed that Nobody 2 has secured an accomplished director to translate the high-octane happenings onto the silver screen. Unlike the first film, Ilya Naishuller won’t be returning as director for the sequel. Instead, Timo Tjahjanto, the mastermind behind The Night Comes for Us, will take up the director’s position for Nobody 2. If you’re an action enthusiast who has yet to watch The Night Comes for Us (which I strongly recommend), this news should give you a glimpse of the brutal and artistic violence that awaits Hutch Mansell in his upcoming escapade.
The sequel to “Nobody,” titled “Nobody 2,” is being written by Derek Kolstad, who also wrote the original John Wick film and series, along with Aaron Rabin (known for Jack Ryan), Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem (from Kate). Kelly McCormick and David Leitch are back to produce “Nobody 2” through 87North. Additionally, Odenkirk and Marc Provissiero will be producing through Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, while Braden Aftergood will produce through Eighty Two Films.
The specifics of the plot are yet undisclosed, but the upcoming sequel is set to feature Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, and Christopher Lloyd in key roles. Notably, Sharon Stone from “Basic Instinct” and “Total Recall” has joined the cast as the film’s primary antagonist.
Nobody 2
is due to be released on August 15, 2025.
