Bada Naam Karenge: Sooraj Barjatya ADMITS he was nervous about ‘kiss scene’ in Ritik Ghanshani, Ayesha Kaduskar-led series; ‘Mera aadha dimaag…’

60-year-old filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, renowned for his family-focused narratives, stepped into the digital realm with Bada Naam Karenge, Rajshri Productions’ inaugural web series, debuting in February 2025. His OTT premiere has garnered a tremendous response, leaving him elated. However, he confessed to experiencing some apprehension regarding a kiss scene between actors Ritik Ghanshani and Ayesha Kaduskar, focusing intently on this scene throughout production.

In Bada Naam Karenge, there’s an uncommon kiss shared by the main characters, Ritik Ghanshani and Ayesha Kaduskar. This is quite unusual for a Rajshri production. During an interview with DNA, Sooraj Barjatya confessed that he was anxious about this scene, constantly thinking throughout the day about how it was being captured on film.

Originally doubtful, he inquired from director Palash Vaswani about the need for it. Yet, upon seeing the finished version, he found himself reassured and admiring the grace and subtlety with which it had been filmed. Translation: “It was his entire intellect that I was referring to.

Speaking about the reaction to “Bada Naam Karenge”, he divulged that the immense approval brings back memories of the joy following Maine Pyar Kiya’s premiere. The filmmaker confessed he was astonished by the acclaim and affection the series has garnered, particularly from rural viewers. He disclosed that receiving calls from women, elders, and family members at odd hours like 2 AM has left him astounded, underscoring his conviction that audiences were longing for content such as this.

In this new arrangement, Sooraj Barjatya assumes the role of producer for “Bada Naam Karenge”, aiming to introduce his son through this series. With Palash Vaswani at the helm, renowned for his work on “Gullak”, the show successfully combines the familiar charm of Barjatya storytelling with a modern allure that catches the eye of Gen Z viewers.
