Recently, Himesh Reshammiya revealed captivating accounts of his professional life and path to Bollywood on Farah Khan’s video blog. He also discussed the significant part Salman Khan played in kick-starting his music career, as well as the inspiration behind his latest film release titled Badass Ravi Kumar.
What stood out most during our chat was when Himesh Reshammiya shared an intriguing tale about his journey as a music composer. He disclosed that his father had been on the verge of casting Aamir Khan for a movie, but the arrangement fell through. In its place, Salman Khan joined the project, and though the film with Salman was never produced, it proved to be a pivotal moment in Himesh’s career path.
Himesh shared that despite Salman not featuring in his father’s film, he recognized Himesh’s musical talents and provided him with a song for Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. This was a significant stepping stone for Himesh in the Hindi music industry. He elaborated on how composing the title track posed difficulties since it incorporated a well-known phrase from Mughal-E-Azam, yet eventually, the song became an enormous success.
Without Salman Khan’s help, Himesh feels he may have been limited to TV shows. He further explained, “I was deeply engrossed in TV series, and it was only when Salman Bhai provided me with that opportunity that I could pursue music.
Discussing the motivation behind his recent movie titled ‘Badass Ravi Kumar’, Himesh shared that the concept for the character originated from his nostalgic recollections of Indian films. He clarified, “The character in ‘Badass Ravikumar’ is inspired by my memories of Indian cinema during my childhood.
In my artistic journey, I’ve noticed that when I perform songs from the ’90s, they resonate deeply with the crowd. It seems to me that the affection for retro music continues unabated, and this is likely why my ’90s tunes still enjoy popularity in the present day.
