A new TV series script called “New Spanish,” one of 400 proposals considered during the Hot Pilot Party, is set in a politically-charged backdrop following the Trump era. The story revolves around a small town in Ontario contemplating secession from Canada. Unlike MIPs in Cannes, this script reading at Banff serves to nurture developing TV series, rather than selling completed products.
As a gamer, I can’t wait to dive into the amazing lineup Banff has in store for us this year! Starting off with a live table read of an available script? Now that’s a daring and entertaining move! After all, Banff is more than just a festival—it’s the heart of television creation and appreciation. It’s where industry professionals gather to ignite ideas, seal deals, and shine a spotlight on exceptional talent. So, get ready, because we’re about to create some magic together at this session!
