As a seasoned gamer and automotive enthusiast with a penchant for streetwear, this latest collaboration between Liberty Walk and BAPE has me revving my engine! Growing up, I remember the iconic camo prints of BAPE and the jaw-dropping customizations of Liberty Walk gracing the pages of car magazines. To see these two powerhouses come together is like a dream come true!
Wataru Kato, creator of Liberty Walk, has shared on social platforms that they are teaming up with BAPE. This partnership results in a selection of merchandise, trinkets, and multiple cars from BAPE, all sporting their signature camouflage wrap.
Among the assortment, you’ll find BAPE’s iconic Shark Hoodie, offered in both black and grey, adorned with a Liberty Walk graphic on the back. Furthermore, there are two distinct graphic t-shirts, each accessible in black or white, as well as a duo of coach jackets, one in black and the other in camouflage. Noteworthy additions to the collection include a collaborative shark cap and sneakers.
Apart from clothing and accessories, they are also introducing 1:64 scale diecast cars, co-created with MINI GT, which come in a variety of Nissan models sporting the Liberty Walk design and BAPE camouflage patterns. Aside from these cars, the collection includes other collectible items like stickers and keychains.
At this year’s Wired Music Festival held in Japan, there were full-sized replicas of diecast models on showcase. A total of 100 diecast models were given away at the event. Although the initial distribution was limited to the festival itself, a larger release of the collaborative collection is anticipated during the 2025 Tokyo Autosalon. The cost for items in this series varies from ¥1,100 JPY (approximately $7 USD) to ¥45,100 JPY ($300 USD).
