Bape and the Van Gogh Museum honor the remarkable life and works of the famed artist Vincent van Gogh by joining forces in an exciting collaboration. This partnership showcases fine art in a fresh, contemporary context through a vivid homage to the renowned Dutch painter and iconic Japanese label.

Blending the unique style of BAPE with the masterful artistry of Vincent van Gogh, this collection showcases renowned pieces such as “Self-Portrait in a Gray Felt Hat” (1887), “Blooming Plum Orchard” (a reinterpretation of Hiroshige’s work from 1887), “Yellow House” (1888), “Sunflowers” (1889), “Blooming Almonds” (1890) and “Wheat Field with Crows” (1890). These famous works are elegantly incorporated into BAPE’s classic design, including the APE HEAD motif. The APE HEAD icon is utilized as a canvas to create a series of T-shirts that display these six pieces in the order they were painted. The well-known Shark Hoodie is reinvented with van Gogh’s artistic elements, along with a fresh “OIL PAINTING CAMO” pattern that symbolically represents his brushstrokes within BAPE’s iconic camouflage design. This collection also includes moving quotes from Van Gogh’s letters to his brother Theo, adding an emotional and thoughtful dimension.

This assortment includes T-shirts, long-sleeved T-shirts, crew neck sweatshirts, and Shark Full Zip Hoodies. You can get it starting May 31, exclusively available online.
