Barbie’s Ariana Greenblatt Says It’s A ‘Blessing’ To Still Get Love Over The Movie But Jokes Two Things Have Changed Since It Released

As a gamer and film enthusiast, I can’t help but be in awe of Ariana Greenblatt‘s impressive resume in the entertainment industry. Her recent roles in “Ahsoka” and “Borderlands” have truly showcased her talent and versatility as an actress. But what really caught my attention was her part as Sasha in last year’s blockbuster hit, “Barbie.” I remember watching the movie when it premiered, and Greenblatt’s performance left a lasting impression on me.

Ariana Greenblatt has recently taken on some impressive roles, such as portraying young Ahsoka in the Disney+ “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka,” and the teenage demolitions expert Tiny Tina in Eli Roth’s film adaptation of “Borderlands.” Prior to these parts, the talented actress appeared in the 2023 blockbuster “Barbie,” where she played Sasha, the daughter of America Ferrera. Although it has been a year since “Barbie” hit theaters, Greenblatt continues to cherish the experience and acknowledges the love she’s received for her role. She playfully mentions two ways her life has transformed as a result.

Actress Ariana Greenblatt, featured in “Stuck in the Middle”, portrayed Sasha in “Barbie,” Gloria’s feminist daughter. Initially, Sasha expressed a disconnect from her mother and strong views against the societal impact of Barbie dolls. However, her perspective shifted upon entering Barbieland with her mom and Barbie herself. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Greenblatt shared that she continues to encounter people referencing “Barbie,” but lightheartedly mentioned two things that have transformed for her since the film’s release.

I’m thrilled to share that my connection with Barbie feels eternal, a truly wonderful gift. Seeing pink and hearing specific songs will never be the same, yet these reminders bring back cherished memories. I wouldn’t change this for anything.

As a gamer, I get Ariana Greenblatt’s perspective. In that blockbuster film of hers, she encountered a distinct hurdle: obtaining an ample amount of pink props since Roscoe Films seldom received demands for it. Moreover, Greenblatt nailed some stunning Barbie-inspired outfits, like the pink jumpsuit she wore while plotting against the Kens. I can relate to how overwhelming pink can be after prolonged exposure.

The soundtrack of “Barbie” featured some of the finest music of the year. A highlight was Ryan Gosling’s performance in the “I’m Just Ken” scene, which left a lasting impression during the Oscars and brought plenty of energy. Additionally, Billie Eilish’s song “What Was I Made For,” which earned an Oscar for Best Original Song, experienced significant sales growth shortly after its release. Whether you’re in the mood to dance or contemplate life’s questions, “Barbie” offers a collection of tunes that will remain stuck in your head for years to come.

As a 16-year-old gamer, I can tell you about my exciting experience during the audition process for “Barbie.” I got the chance to meet director Greta Gerwig in person, and let me tell you, I was completely starstruck! But wait, it gets even better. I also came face-to-face with Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn in “Suicide Squad.” I couldn’t believe my eyes! I described myself as totally fanboying out, telling her how much her portrayal of Harley Quinn influenced my character in “Borderlines.” Margot seemed genuinely flattered by my compliment. What a surreal moment for this young actress!

After being a part of “Barbenheimer” with Barbie one year ago, I, Ariana Greenblatt, can’t deny the love I still receive for that role. At the same time, I can’t help but poke fun at how my perspective on pink has shifted and certain songs take me back to that summer blockbuster. The impact of “Barbie” on my young career is undeniable. As I prepare to embark on new adventures in “Borderlands” and the Netflix film “Fear Street: Prom Queen,” I’m excited for the new memories and experiences these projects will bring my way.

As a gamer, I get to tag along with Sasha and her mom Gloria as they explore Barbieland, an exciting world brought to life by Mattel Inc.’s Barbie doll – all included in my Max subscription! Additionally, keep an eye out for Ariana Greenblatt in the big-screen adaptation of Borderlands hitting theaters on August 9th.
