Based On What We’ve Heard So Far About The Bluey Movie, There’s Some Stuff I Want To Talk About

As a parent of two young children, I can honestly say that “Bluey” has become a staple in our household. The show’s relatable humor and heartwarming lessons have made it a go-to for both my daughter and son. When I first heard about the upcoming Bluey movie, I was thrilled at the prospect of seeing their adventures on the big screen.

However, as someone who has watched every single episode with my kids multiple times, I can’t help but feel a little anxious about the wait until 2027. My daughter, who is four going on five, is currently still very much into Bluey, but I fear she might have moved on by then. On the other hand, I also worry that my son, who is now seven and has started to drift away from the show, will be too old to appreciate it when the movie finally comes out.

But hey, at least we’ll have plenty of other 2025 and 2026 movies to look forward to in the meantime! Maybe by then, I’ll be able to catch a break and watch something without having to explain the plot to my kids every five minutes. (Just kidding, I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything!)

For nearly a decade, the adored animated series Bluey, featuring the lovable blue heeler puppy and her family, has been a fan favorite. In the not-too-distant future, this cherished group will make their big screen debut. Yes, you heard it right! A Bluey movie is in production, and we, who’ve spent countless hours enjoying one of the greatest cartoons of all time, are absolutely thrilled about this exciting news.

Discussing the Bluey movie seems like a logical next step, given the extended “The Sign” episode, the creation of a dedicated theme park, and my personal connection as a father of three avid fans who even hum the theme tune in their dreams. There are numerous aspects of this film I’m eager to delve into.

What We Know About The Bluey Movie

Let’s take a look at all the information available about the forthcoming children’s film before we delve into my speculations about its potential as the top movie of 2027, particularly regarding the timeline for the release of the Bluey movie.

  • The Bluey Movie Will Open In Theaters In 2027
  • The Movie Will Also Be Streaming On Disney+ Sometime After
  • Bluey Creator Joe Brumm Is Writing And Directing The Movie
  • The Movie Will Continue The Adventures Of Bluey And Her Family
  • The Film Is Being Made By Ludo Studio, The Animation House Behind The Series

After Watching The 28-Minute Episode, ‘The Sign,’ I’m Excited To See How A Feature-Length Bluey Movie Will Play Out

In most instances, “Bluey” episodes have ranged from seven to nine minutes each. However, the episode titled “The Sign,” which came out in 2024, marked a significant departure for the series by telling a 28-minute story. After its premiere on Disney+ in April, one of my coworkers opined that the show should continue with longer episodes, and I agree. While it remains to be seen if we’ll get more extended episodes of this popular series, there is an upcoming movie, which I can’t wait to watch.

I’m quite excited to discover how a full-length Bluey movie will unfold, as Joe Brumm and his team get more time to develop the story without being limited by a seven to nine minute runtime. I’m curious about the structure of the story – will it focus on a single continuous plot or will there be multiple issues and lessons throughout? We’ll find out soon enough.

I Can’t Wait To See What Great Messages The Movie Has In Store For Us

One wonderful aspect of Bluey is that every episode carries a profound lesson. It covers topics such as not ignoring the seemingly mundane parts of life, understanding it’s okay to take breaks and letting children be children. Each story always delivers something thoughtful, and I eagerly anticipate what more Brumm has planned for us.

Based On What Joe Brumm Has Said About The Movie, I’m Worried What This Means For Bluey Season 4

Although I’m thrilled about the prospect of the Bluey movie, I can’t help but feel a touch disappointed as it seems uncertain if there will be a fourth season in the future. During the announcement of the Bluey movie on their official website in December 2024, Brumm mentioned that he took some time off from the series and rediscovered an old concept, deciding to make a film instead. This is certainly exciting news! However, when he followed up with some challenging (tricky and difficult) updates, my concerns were raised: this might indicate a hiatus or change in direction for the series.

From now on, let’s address the tough matter at hand. I’ve consistently maintained that I wouldn’t continue producing the show if I couldn’t guarantee a new season would be as great as the last one. With potential season four, this was a challenge for me, so I’ve chosen to step back from the TV series temporarily. In case I find it difficult to carry on with more seasons myself, “The Sign” will serve as my final episode for Bluey. I wrote it with that intention in mind.

Should “The Sign” indeed mark the conclusion of the series, it proved to be an excellent ending. Nonetheless, I can’t deny feeling a tinge of sadness at the thought of bidding farewell to those delightful brief episodes.

The Voice Cast And The Creative Team Behind The Series Are Involved, So The Bluey Movie Should Feel Like A Continuation Of The Series

Although the identities of the actors providing voices for Bluey and Bingo in the upcoming film are still unknown, since they’ve been played by unnamed child actors throughout the series, it has been confirmed that other voice cast members from Bluey will be returning. When BBC Studios and Disney announced the Bluey movie in December 2024, they also disclosed that Melanie Zanetti and David McMormack would reprise their roles as Chilli and Bandit, respectively. Moreover, it was announced that Joff Bush, who created the popular theme song, will contribute to the film’s production as well.

It’s wonderful news that the key creators behind the hit show Bluey are staying involved for the brand’s first film. This makes me confident that the cinematic journey will feel like an expansive and daring extension of the series we’ve all come to cherish.

My Daughter Is A Huge Bluey Fan, But I Hope She’s Not Aged Out By The Time This Comes Out

I’m looking forward to watching the Bluey movie, but I have a concern that my daughter might lose interest in the show before its 2027 release (no specific date has been given yet). She’s currently four and about to turn five, which means she’ll be seven when it eventually premieres.

Currently, my son isn’t keen on watching Bluey each morning before school. Instead, he’s more interested in the Skibidi Toilet movie these days. I just hope that by the time my daughter turns seven, she won’t lose interest in our morning cartoon routine like her brother does now.
