Ben Stiller Attempts to Help Raise His Orphaned Nephews in ‘Nutcrackers’ Trailer

As a longtime fan of both Ben Stiller and David Gordon Green, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming holiday movie “Nutcrackers” on Hulu! Having grown up watching Stiller’s comedies and admiring Green’s unique filmmaking style, this collaboration is a dream come true.

In the trailer for the upcoming Hulu Christmas film, “Nutcrackers”, Ben Stiller finds himself out of his depth as he takes on the task of looking after his newly orphaned nephews in a small, rural town.

David Gordon Green’s movie is all set to make its debut on a streaming platform on November 29, following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Linda Cardellini, Edi Patterson, Tim Heidecker, and Toby Huss are part of the main cast, along with young actors and actual siblings Homer, Ulysses, Atlas, and Arlo Janson.

The story revolves around Mike (Stiller), a man consumed by his career, who spends the three weeks leading up to Christmas as a makeshift guardian for his boisterous nephews. They’re currently in need of permanent foster care.

In the recording, Stiller says, “I’ve come here to take care of you all and help you find a loving family.” Later on, when the boys are being unruly, Stiller urges them, “Please behave like regular children. I’m trying my best to find you a suitable home.

Leland Douglas wrote the screenplay for the movie that Green directed. Nate Meyer, Rob Paris, and Mike Witherill took on the roles of producers.

Ben Stiller serves as both director and executive producer for the critically-acclaimed Apple TV+ show “Severance”, which will air its second season on January 17, 2025.

Green has previously worked on films such as “The Exorcist: Believer”, the latest installment of the “Halloween” remake series, and “Pineapple Express”.

In a critique for The Hollywood Reporter, their chief film critic David Rooney stated that while “Nutcrackers” may not be particularly strong among uplifting family comedies, those who tune into director Green’s fluid rhythm can expect a heartfelt reward.
