Benedict Cumberbatch’s ‘The Roses’ Remake Set for Explosive Summer Release!

Currently, Benedict Cumberbatch finds himself as occupied as always, with no fewer than three movies slated for release in 2025. Among them are “The Thing with Feathers,” a dramatic piece, and “The Phoenician Scheme,” an action-packed spy thriller. Notably, there’s also a reimagining of the ’80s hit “The War of the Roses,” now titled “The Roses” and scheduled for a summer premiere. In this film, Cumberbatch shares the screen with Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman, where they portray a seemingly ideal couple; however, beneath their tranquil facade lies a far from harmonious reality.

According to Searchlight Pictures, “The Roses” is set to premiere in cinemas on August 29, 2025, coinciding with the release of the anticipated remake of “The Toxic Avenger.” Originally directed by Danny DeVito from Warren Adler’s novel, the classic film “The War of the Roses” starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner first hit screens in 1989. Both stars received Golden Globe nominations for their performances. The upcoming adaptation is being directed by Jay Roach, known for creating the “Austin Powers” series, and written by Tony McNamara, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work on the 2023 film “Poor Things.
