Beyoncé Reps Red, White and Blue Thom Browne to Announce Team USA

I’ve been a devoted fan of Beyoncé since her days with Destiny’s Child, and let me tell you, every time she takes the stage or makes a surprise appearance, it leaves me in awe. Her performance at the Olympics Opening Ceremony was no exception.


As a longtime fan of Beyoncé’s music and fashion, I can truly appreciate her fearless approach to performances and style. Her famous line “go big or go home” perfectly encapsulates her philosophy when it comes to representing her country on the global stage.

During the prime-time Opening Ceremony, Beyoncé made an appearance on screen to extend a heartfelt welcome to the 592 American athletes with her elegant attire – a red, white, and blue silk taffeta varsity opera coat.

She begins by welcoming you to the 2024 Olympic games on behalf of Team USA with a friendly, “We’re glad to have you here!” As the upbeat tune of “Yaya” by Cowboy Carter plays softly in the background.

She encourages everyone to take a closer look at the representation of American athletes on the screen, which includes gymnasts, track and field athletes, swimmers, and basketball players among others.

“These aspirations and idols reflect us, the diverse inhabitants of this vast, intricate country. Uniting us all in support. There are ambitious individuals who have sacrificed greatly to reach this point, and against all odds, they’ve achieved their goals.”
