Director Anees Bazmee disclosed that the horse painting shown in the trailer for the Kartik Aaryan-led horror-comedy has a link to MF Hussain, a renowned artist.
In a private conversation with TopMob, filmmaker Anees Bazmee disclosed the backstory of Majnu Bhai’s painting and admitted that the artwork attributed to Anil Kapoor’s character actually came from the director himself.
In my professional perspective as a lifestyle enthusiast, I delved deeply into the intriguing persona of Majnu Bhai from the movie “Welcome.” It’s fascinating to note that he is revered not just as an ordinary artist but as a renowned ‘live painter,’ a unique and captivating talent that sets him apart.
In the scene of the auction at “Welcome”, there was a need for a painting. The production team arrived with around 8 to 10 paintings, but the ones they brought didn’t appeal to me much. However, looking back on it, I found them quite satisfactory, the filmmaker reminisced.
The director remarked, “Majnu Bhai doesn’t seem capable of creating such wonderful paintings. If I were there at the time, I thought I should give it a try.
Anees Bazmee reminisced about not having painted in school days. “For the first time, I created this horse. Interestingly, during the production of MF Hussain’s film, Gaja Gamini, I collaborated with him for several weeks, even staying with him for over a month,” the director of Bhool Bhulaiyya 3 explained further.
