For devotees of the cherished and Emmy-winning mature animated comedy “Big Mouth”, hearing that the show’s eighth season would be its last was a melancholic moment. And if they haven’t, then they will undoubtedly do so by the time the final season debuts this spring, as its streaming platform Netflix revealed together with a host of guest stars who are certain to leave even the coolest of teens (and adults) amazed.

On May 23, 2025, the Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg-developed series Big Mouth is set to make its grand finale. However, it won’t be just a loud or humorous goodbye – our feelings will also take a hit. As suggested by the official summary, this final season promises to be emotionally impactful.

In the last and concluding season of ‘Big Mouth,’ our favorite Bridgeton teenagers face fresh hurdles as they navigate high school life, including: learning to drive, drug use, sexual inexperience, consent, pornography, the adolescent psyche, cancel culture, body changes, and eventually, the fear of an uncertain future. Friendship is the bedrock that helps them endure this phase of life, be it for those just starting puberty, like Nick who experiences his first growth spurt, or those nearing its end, like a maturing (and prematurely balding) Andrew. As many characters grapple with crises during the season, Compassion (personified as a new character voiced by Holly Hunter) becomes a crucial guide. The main theme of this season is the significance of standing by and supporting your friends, especially during tumultuous times. In the end, our youngsters brace themselves for the daunting unknown of the future, finding comfort in their shared companionship that lessens their fears about what lies ahead.
