Bill Maher: Young Democrats Heart Hamas, Not America

HBO’s Bill Maher is trying to stop his party from rushing off an electoral cliff.

So far, it’s not working.

For quite some time now, an older style liberal has cautioned the progressive left against their overzealous adoption of wokeness. Lately, he’s been vocal about criticizing Democrats for not being open to dialogue with their opposing political parties.

He not only talks about conservative viewpoints, but also provides a platform for them by inviting prominent conservatives on “Real Time with Bill Maher” and his “Club Random” podcast.

Maher’s message still isn’t getting through.

On last Friday’s episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” the host strongly reinforced his stance against a party that seems determined to cause damage. An illustration of this could be found in the excessive support from progressives for all aspects related to Palestine, such as Hamas and calls for Intifada.

Frequently, it occurs at prestigious universities with minimal resistance from Democratic leaders.

Those shaping ideas within the Democratic Party persistently endorse and do not criticize the notion that America is embarrassing, while those in Gaza are admirable. The issue for the Democrats lies in their energy primarily residing among the younger generation, who seem to align themselves with groups associated with terrorism.

A significant number of Democrats express strong dislike towards their own political party. This is also concerning, especially among progressive members of Generation Z.

Approximately 25% of Democrats under age 30 express pride in their American identity, while a substantial 54% feel ashamed. Feeling ashamed about being an American is like feeling embarrassed when your mother picks you up from school. However, let me clarify that the sentiment seems to be reciprocated, as many aspects of America are not yet fully understood by this demographic. It’s important to note that no country is flawless, and while we should acknowledge areas for improvement, it’s also crucial to recognize the significant strides the U.S. has made on progressive issues that matter most to younger generations.

Tell that to the Queers for Palestine contingent.

Maher listed numerous facts that underscored America’s significant advancements in addressing issues such as sexism, racial discrimination, and human rights.

The current Congress we have now is more multiracial and multiethnic than any before it. Comparing them to a vibrant yet symbolic rainbow, he jokingly remarked.

During his speech, Maher didn’t forget to keep things light. What’s remarkable is that he’s among a small group of liberal comedians who are criticizing Democrats in such a way. The majority of late-night TV (with exceptions like Fox News’ “Gutfeld!”) choose not to point out flaws within their own party.

Colbert’s team consistently criticizes President Trump every night, yet they avoid condemning the contemporary liberal movement. This situation leaves Bill Maher feeling frustrated as he tries to defend his party from individuals who don’t seem to align with its values.

Accused wife beaters and human traffickers? Folk heroes.

Accused murderers? Worthy of musical theater.

Liberal academic institutions? Hotbeds of hate and antisemitism.

Maher finds everything around him unamusing, and unfortunately, he often seems to be the only one in the liberal entertainment sphere who feels this way.
