Bill Murray Says Not Working With Clint Eastwood Is “One of the Few Regrets I Have”

Bill Murray has his “What if” moments.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my fascination with Bill Murray’s recent reminiscence on The Howard Stern Show. He spoke about one role he deeply regretted not getting a chance to play. “Ever seen a movie and thought ‘I wish I could act alongside this person?'” Stern inquired, to which Murray responded, “Back then, I was engrossed in Clint Eastwood‘s films like Thunderbolt and Lightfoot or whatever he was producing at the time. I imagined his sidekick getting killed, but having an outstanding death scene. I thought to myself, ‘I simply must reach out to this man.’

He expressed his regret, saying, “One of my few regrets is that I didn’t take advantage of the opportunity because it was on a grand scale.” The actor from ‘Groundhog Day’ mentioned this, explaining how he had access to bats used during World War II. He could have created a fleet and there were some exciting possibilities related to it.

Murray further pointed out that when he meets Eastwood, he’ll continue to express his regret for not being a part of the film. However, he believes that the esteemed Academy Award-winning director has undoubtedly moved past this matter.
